2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Y'all know I'm not a big believer in Favors next to Gobert, but Favors for Parker just doesn't make much sense.

I think separate deals sending Rubio and some minor contract (Niang, Bradley, etc) for Parker

then

Favors for Lin and Dotson or Prince or somebody else

Makes much more sense. Favors for Parker just doesn't make sense unless there was some 3rd team who wants Favors.

More trades and more pieces involved are always less likely.

The Bulls are out nothing taking Favors and the Jazz are out nothing losing Favors. He just is a poor fit, especially if Rubio is still here.

The sports is called basket-BALL.

You can't just play defense and hope to win. You have to know how to use the BALL, play with the BALL and score with the BALL.

#Basket-BALL

Don't forget that.

Okay. You’re wrong, but okay.

Favors is an elite defender. Can guard on the perimeter and great rim protection and much much more fleet of foot. Your basing Udoh on a hand full of minutes between last year and this. Favors has been through the wars, and battle tested. Udoh is above average but somewhat limited in what he does, give him Favors minutes and IMO, he breaks down and loses some of his effectiveness, and no one is asking him to guard some of these stretch 4’s or 5’s. your response basically proves my point”Okay. You’re wrong, but okay” this tells me you’re not exactly convinced.

Udoh is fantastic at guarding stretchy guys. That's actually what he is best at.
He shut down Chris Paul on the perimeter a bunch of times earlier this year.

When he’s the defensive anchor for this team, the Jazz are a poor defensive team. I get his thing is playing quietly, but it’s got to at least show up there.

Additionally, he’s still a liability against stretchy 4s.

Favors is a nice player that is seriously overrated by some people in this fan base.

Only seems that way because Gobert is the best at what he does. There’s going to be a bit of a drop off, also he spends half his minutes chasing smaller players around. That takes a lot of his focus

As is any player his size. Still he’s better then most. And one of the best at recovering when the smaller guys blow by him

Just say no to Kevin love... that contract is a millstone.

i don't think favors is perfect, but his PER doesn't lie.
21.10

also, him and rudy are like top 10 in the league at fg%.
gobert is at 1
favors is at 7

mostly dunks, but favors does get to the basket. gets up around 9shots per game and makes 60% of them, that's pretty damn nice.

With the Pelicans struggles, I still think AD gets traded before the deadline. If I'm NOLA, I make the call to Boston and simply ask - "would you trade Tatum for AD this summer?" If they say no, NOLA should trade AD to LA by February 7th.
