2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I don't think that either is the definitive answer honestly. Not sure what, or who, the answer for the Jazz is. I just want Lou Williams as a stop gap. I'm the lone soul on the try and trade for Lou Will train. He's cheap and he can create and score.
I'd be on that train, too, but I'm not certain we have anything we can entice LA with.

Now that is something that makes 100% perfect sense.

And if Memphis can get a little further under the luxury with the deal, something with Conley going to Detroit makes more sense.

Although depending on the salary match... adding Gasol's option next year to Charlotte's tax bill with Kemba... Holy hell... Hope MJ moves some sneakers.

I'd buy a ticket on that train.

Yep. Hypothetically, if Kemba signs a max and Gasol picks up his option, that team is way over the luxury for next season although they do have a ton of expirings next year.

I would assume that the deal with Memphis is Gasol for Biyombo, Frank Kaminsky and Charlotte's 2019 1st. That only adds $8 million more if Gasol opts in, but it does keep them out of the luxury if he opts out. With so many teams having cap space this summer, I bet Charlotte could find a way to dump expiring Marvin Williams or MKG to a team needing to spend money.

My guess is that package but with Monk instead of the pick. I think they move their pick in another deal this offseason to move money if they need to.

Memphis is holding out Gasol tonight. If this deal goes through I don't think Conley is far behind.

Do you think Memphis would move Gasol for Biyombo and Monk? Seems like they would want/need more.

Yeah... I do. Monk has some value still Marc makes more than Bismack and Monk combined next year... Frank is a person. Maybe it's a first though... wouldn't be crazy.

I think there is a real chance Memphis just keeps Conley... I don't think we are going higher... and listening to Chris Vernon (super tied in with Grizz) said it just doesn't feel like enough and thinks they are more likely to keep Conley, but that Gasol would almost certainly be gone.

Yep, feels that way.

Teams who half *** these rebuilds, or try to throw together an 8 seed contender just confuse the hell out of me.

So throw in two 2nds. Three, **** it.

Seriously. What the ****’s the difference? We don’t use them anyway and this is going toward a legit asset we’re locked into for three more years.

Doesn't make sense... but they did it with a damned expiring in Evans... its dumb and they will likely end up trading him for something less.

With so many teams having space this summer, it's possible that one strikes out in free agency then gives up an asset for two years of Conley. Gasol was an easy sell because he might have just walked this summer. Better to get something for him than nothing.
