This comes down to if you believe 3s/spacing are fundamental or not and if you are willing to delude yourself into thinking players that hardly shot them would be good at shooting them or not.

There is some intellectual dishonesty going on here. Moncrief was a great but to say he’s easily or clearly better than Wade at anything besides D is straight hogwash. At his peak Wade is easily a top-5 SG ever. Also, I question Moncrief’s actual defensive impact since his defensive +/- was barely positive.

Magic was a poor defender. Steph is the greatest shooter of all time by a light year. His MVP seasons are peerless in his offensive efficiency and impact.

Zo was strong and athletic as ****. Kareem ain’t outrunning him.

The benches are getting completely ignored and Wes’ is awesome.

I don’t know who I’m voting for.
 
I never sell my team hard. I feel like the team should sell itself. That said, saying Moncrief has an edge over Wade is straight up rofl. You could ask 500 basketball analysts/experts who the better player was and not one would say Moncrief. And that’s not hyperbole. Nobody would say that.

Okay, maybe one. Just to play devil’s advocate.

Why the Barry hatred?

 
The matchups here are significant. There is no weak offensive player for Steph to cover. Who does he cover: Magic, Moncrief, or Barry? He gets torched no matter what and he's going to need help. So while he is the greatest shooter ever, what is his net contribution, especially considering he is going a full game against 2 DOPYs?

On the other hand, Magic's defensive "weakness" was in covering quick guards. I put Moncrief on Steph, The Matrix on DWade, Barry on Pierce, and Magic on CWebb. The Matrix focuses on stopping Wades's penetration and encourages low efficiency 3s. Kareem protects the rim.

Reminder: Wes has only two outside shooters in his starting lineup.
