2020 Annual All-Time NBA Draft

Normally I'd want to wait until the Current Players Draft has completely finished. However, since the Finals series of that draft is looking like a sweep, I don't see any harm in posting the lottery here shortly.

The All-Time Lottery will start today at 5 PM MST.

Question for y’all.

Why is it the case that you still haven’t clarified the style of play that teams will be judged against? For example, will teams be judged by modern space-and-pace dynamics? Or will the old offsides rules apply? This has been the central weakness in these all-time drafts from the very first iteration.

I just looked it up, it looks like there have only been 2 seasons since Stockton retired that someone (Chris Paul in both cases) had over 213 steals in a season, which is what you'd need to hit 2.6 steals/game over 82 games.

I’ve been wondering myself. But it would be difficult to state a rule that does justice to the situation. I can mainly enjoy envisioning current rules in place. So yeah, I’m biased in that regard. But the rules are unstated to me, so maybe I’m misreading the situation completely.

With Klay and Magic you’d have the best backcourt. Trade Timmy for magic straight up. Do it.

look I get it he’s going to be really good but he’s not there yet. He’s played two years, not a good defender, or shooter from distance or the ft line, as a young player he has flaws and you passed up absolute studs/HOF’ers for a second year player not battle tested. It was a horrible pick imo. Someone I wouldn’t even think about till at the very least, the 4th round, and that might be pushing it.
