Yeah, Batum playing 22 minutes and Bogey only 20 makes perfect sense.

Bear in mind, this guy tried to force himself out of Portland to play for Minnesota and ended up playing great for Charlotte for a season or two. We just need a season or two.

I think he punched someone in the balls in international play so he’s got some CP competitiveness vibes... maybe?

I think he’s about as good of a reclamation project as there is. Prime Batum would be pretty fantastic in our system.

There are going to be a number of Ian Clark or Niang types finding themselves without work before the season starts. That is how the Jazz picked up JIngles. If the front office is shrewd they might find some buried treasure dumpster diving.

Interestingly, when I add that up it’s exactly 240 minutes, the exact number we can play.

To reiterate from another thread: the Jazz should use an 8-man rotation for the playoffs but a 9-man for the regular season. Need to preserve some of the main 8 and have someone actually ready to step up their role when we inevitably have an injury or need to manage somebody’s occasional load.

Right now, our 9th man has not really been a (worthy) NBA player, whoever that is. We should probably get one.

To swing off of @infection :

The more I think about a Conley for OPJ swap, the more I'm into it. If he's not healthy, we still get to see MUCH more of the Don/Royce/Joe/Bojan/Rudy lineup than we would if we were trying to figure out how to get Conley his minutes. If OPJ IS healthy, there is some chance we got ourselves an advanced numbers god in his prime with serious size and defense. No matter what, it either saves the organization a ******** of money or it allows them to use the BAE and stay under the tax.

Also, Chicago was clearly targeting and clearing the way for Melo and didn't get him. Their PG sitch is fairly ****ed (even though I think Sato is good).

There’s really no downside to it except, you know, trading Mike Conley.
 
If DL wanted to get ballsy enough, he could ask for a pick. But even if he was willing to turn over a new leaf and move Conley, I’d let him be the one to include the pick, if he really wanted.

Might want to check your translation. We didn’t call to inquire about Nico. Obvi. They must have called us. This is the sort of detail that can be lost in verb conjugations.

Bulls won't call us but Knicks probably will. So lets pack Conley with another pick to New York and let them trade him to the Bulls, just to see how much more the Knicks can take advantage of us.
 
If Batum want to revive his career without moving around, journeyman-style, maybe he thinks he take take a bite out of the cap space that’ll remain after Conley moves on?
