I am concerned Conley is on his way out. If he was in his 20's I wouldn't be, or if he had good size for his position I would be rosier. I am not proclaiming that he and we can't turn it around, but if he is on his way out then the Jazz would do well to get out from under him as quickly as possible, while there might be lingering hopes for him.

I have also long felt that DM's best position is as a PG for numerous reasons, one being that it might cause him to have a second-thought about his proclivity for chucking. I think giving him a permanent green-light this early in his career has been bad for him.

How about this, Exum, Ingles a first and maybe a first swap. trade.png

If the Spurs blow things up, this could help us solve a lot of problems. You get a rebounder and someone that I feel can stretch the floor a little better than Favors used to.

1. When was the last time the Spurs blew it up?
2. Aldridge isn't going to fix anything for us. He is a weak rebounder and wouldn't give us any spacing. He would decrease the possessions for our other players that are fighting for more of them and would use them to shoot the worst shots in basketball, something we desperately need to do the complete opposite of as it stands.
3. Trading Joe for a baby like Aldridge would send this team's chemistry off a cliff.
4. The Jazz don't have a 1st to trade.

I realize that our next 1st goes to Memphis. We can trade 2021's first and swap 2022's right? I get it's not typical for the Spurs to do this. But it's never like the Spurs to have a losing season or miss the playoffs. I think that he would go well with Conely, as he's a good pick and pop player like Gasol.

The Stepien Rule prevents teams from not having 1st round picks in consecutive years, so with the pick protections as they are (some protection status through 2024, likely to convey in 2022) and since the Jazz don't have any additional 1sts, they can't trade a 1st until the Memphis pick has conveyed.

Ahh, that make's sense. I still think he would be a good fit, but we have really no viable trade assets. You're probably right that trading Ingles wouldn't be a good chemistry move.

Trading Crowder and Korver also weren’t chemistry moves. But, but, but Exum.
 
Aldridge would compound an existing problem. Mitchell, Conley, Bogdanovic are already trying to find a balance between when to attack and when to give it up. Rudy feels (rightly so) that he should be getting looks too because his shots are high percentage. We don't need another high usage offensive player like Aldridge stepping in. We need another low usage glue guy or two. Preferably ones that bring skill set versatility, toughness and locker room leadership.

I do think a glue guy or enforcer is needed and I feel that's what Jae was for us. I know Booker's name is being thrown around here. But there really aren't a lot of those available that come to mind.

And I'm not sure we have too many offensive players. I just think we have too many that aren't fully integrated in the offensive. A lot of one and done or passes only for the sake of passing.
 
We desperately need some toughness in the paint. My two main targets would be Aron Baynes or Taj Gibson cause they're both lunch bucket types that never backed down from anyone, set great screens, can run the pick and roll and board. The Suns are loaded at center with Ayton returning on the 17th, Kaminski playing well and Diallo also playing well. The best deal I can see is trade Exum and Green for Baynes and Tyler Johnson (Johnson's in the doghouse over there). In the case of Gibson a straight Exum for Gibson. And look I know he can't shoot the three ball but neither could Favors and Oh how I wish we could get him back. Anyway, there's no chance they let Morris go.
 
The point guard that plays to Snyder’s system is Chris Paul ... he plays so well with the big ... and hits that in between shot with ease , he’d make Rudy a beast ...

would OKC do the swap ? Not sure they’d want Conley
 
Here’s something to keep in mind:

Exum and Conley have very little trade value right now, mostly due to their contracts, conleys performance, and exums injury history.
 
Exum and a future 1st round for Markelle Fultz. Salaries line up and Orlando was rumored to be interested in Exum 2 years ago. Fultz has been great for the Magic. I wasn't always a fan, but he's really improved on both ends and could add tremendous value to the back court. Obviously it would initiate some other deals on Jazz players, (Mudiay, Green or ???)

It's very realistic and I like it in theory but I have a sinking feeling that playing for Snyder would give him the yips again.:eek:
 
If we somehow can get one of the PFs from New York then our championship talk could still be on.
