What's new

2020 Presidential election

Syria. Weird how easily people forget what they once stood for in their derangement of Trump.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll at that time, a clear majority of Americans opposed U.S. intervention in Syria, while only 25 percent would support even if Assad's forces used chemical weapons.

But Trump hasn't deescalated our presence in Syria, he simply moved troops away from the border allowing another war to break out, while moving new troops into another part of the country.

So if some sicko makes a demented video about the upcoming Democratic Nominee you would encourage everyone to watch it and rail against the nominee because of a video that he/she/they was not involved in?

FWIW this video wasn't just made by some "sicko," it was part of a convention at Trump's hotel which featured one of his sons and his former press secretary as event speakers.

It's the kind of thing no sane politician would allow themselves to be associated with.

So as I said he hasn't gotten us into any needless conflicts. As my article stated America before Trump is who enabled this conflict.

Oh, no new conflicts you mean. Well you're still wrong as Trump has gotten us into a needless conflict in Yemen.

Kentucky just went blue. Even after Donald held a rally there last night.

Mitch McConnell can’t be too comfortable now. Even Kentucky is voting for Democrats in statewide elections.

Dems taking over the entire Virginia statehouse. Crucial wins, because now they get to redraw the district maps for 2020.

I’m not tired from all this winning!!!

Still your president.

Ugh there you go again with those inconvenient facts.

Don’t you know that arguments are a lot easier to “win” when you can invent new stories? Like Trump deescalating our presence in Syria? Or how he’s following a non-interventionist policy when in reality he’s sending thousands more troops to Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia?

I won't go into great detail but here an easy example.
I pay about 520 dollars per month in healthcare premiums. (My company pays something like 3500 dollars per month in healthcare premiums.)

So if my taxes go up by $300 per month it would seem like a crappy thing. However if my insurance premiums went away then I would actually be saving $200 dollars per month even though I'm getting taxed $300 more per month. ($520 in insurance minus $300 more in taxes = a net gain of $220 dollars into my wallet)

Also if the ultra rich were simply taxed fairly and actually had to pay their taxes (didn't use loopholes and hide their money in offshore accounts etc) then the middle class might not even need to be taxed at all.

And your company saves >40,000 per year, so increase their taxes by that amount and they are cost neutral.

If your Collins, Gardner, or Ernst, don’t you get on the phone tomorrow and get your moving truck ready? Especially if you know already that there’s no way you’re going to vote to convict?

if even Kentucky is going blue, that sends a pretty damn strong message that few republican senators are safe. They should maybe rethink their Donald Trump fetish.

Most republican senators hate trump and are evaluating his political capital to assess whether or not they will stand up to him.

that is why the Kentucky governors election was so important. With trumps political capital plummeting, expect opposition to milk toast prez to bump up as momentum shifts.

“winning”

Some of the greatest beneficiaries of single payer systems are small and large business owners. No longer are they responsible for proving health insurance through ever increasing insurance costs.

For far too long we’ve been held ransom by big health insurance industry.

Again, there’s a reason why we’re the only industrialized country that has such a backwards system.

It's worth noting that Bevin was an incredibly unpopular Governor, and while this is a good win in a race Trump tried to nationalize and make about him, I'm hesitant to read too much into it with regard to other races.
