What's new

2020 Presidential election

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/09/us/trump-campaign-brad-parscale.html

Still, the millions moving through opaque private businesses have left even the president perpetually concerned that Mr. Parscale and his team are making too much money, according to campaign and White House staff members...

According to two people with knowledge of the matter, Parscale Strategy has also been used to make payments out of public view to Lara Trump, the wife of the president’s son Eric, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, the girlfriend of Donald Trump Jr., who have been surrogates on the stump and also taken on broaderadvisory roles. Their presence makes for an odd dynamic between a campaign manager and a candidate’s family.

During a campaign appearance last summer in Orlando, Ms. Guilfoyle confronted Mr. Parscale: Why were her checks always late? Two people who witnessed the encounter said a contrite Mr. Parscale promised that the problem would be sorted out promptly by his wife, Candice Parscale, who handles the books on many of his ventures.

bUt HuNtEr!!!

Imagine that
What's the new data?

EDIT: NVM, I don't have twitter on my phone so I can follow twitter links.

On another note, I've tried to use twitter, the way it's formatted, with even just like 8 people I was following I found it to be absolutely irritating the way it is laid out or whatever you want to call it. Just a disorganized jumble of tiny messages.

Absolutely ****ing ridiculous.

I admit it's a long shot for Sanders to turn this around, but it’s not inconceivable that Biden will still find a way to lose. Two things have to happen in the next seven days. First, tomorrow is critical. Sanders needs to bounce back and win the states in which he was once favored (Washington, Idaho, and North Dakota) as well as keep the vote in Michigan close. If he does that the delegate race stays contestable and sets up one last opportunity in the one on one debate against Biden set for March 15 in Phoenix. Sanders will then have two hours to knock Biden out by showcasing he is clearly the better candidate. If Biden holds his own and somehow manages to come off presidential, the Sanders campaign will be effectively over.

what specifically do you find ridiculous about that? Bloomberg is a capable administrator (I disagree with some of his politics but those are unrelated to finance) and my (liberal) wife who works in finance greatly respects Jaime Diamond. What specifically do you find to be ridiculous? Genuinely curious.

Who I find ridiculous and radically unserious?

Well the US hockey team did best Russia.

Still not done. In my late 20s. And I don’t consider mayor Pete supporters to be allied to causes that benefit working people. AOC was right— in any other country, the left wouldn’t need to share a party with the DNC

Alas, you have to campaign to the electorate that exists, not the electorate that you wish existed.

There is no political tent to the left of Pete that excludes him that is viable nationally in this country. Political strategies that prioritize purity over inclusiveness don't tend to do well long term.

Why would I be upset if a Democratic president filled his cabinet with wall street bankers and billionaires? Why indeed.

Anyway Biden's team is saying this is BS, which I'd hope is the case.

every single exit poll in this cycle has had majority support for Medicare for All

It's a slogan that is very popular. It is less popular when you explain that it means abolishing private health insurance.

Again, that's the reality of who's voting.
