Remember when you guys thought open borders was a brilliant idea and thought that not just letting every unvetted immigrant through the door was racist?

I hope this maybe puts at least a little common sense into your head's on why border security is not a terrible racist thing.

Nah I'm sure Fishon has never said he wanted open borders, but you're right that some people here probably did. But, I don't think this will change their minds. Quarantines at the border during an outbreak and open/closed borders in terms of immigration are different issues.

Not to me or most people that want our borders simply protected... Border protection has never just been about illegals entering our country, it's always been about border protection from the many many many issues that just letting people in brings. It's always been at the forefront.

Remember the left calling Trump racist over this? "Tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border," in 2015?

It just sounds like you're afraid of foreigners. Poor guy. Don't worry, Wyoming is really far from the border unless you feel the same way about the Canadians.

Honestly, you just need to go be a foreigner in a different country for a while(a long time, stay off the internet). It'll change your mind.

I want something very close to open borders. Not just come and go as you please, but a very expedited process and allowing many times more in than the limit that existed before Trump was even President. I think a person should be able to show up at the border and be allowed in later that day if there is no obvious reason to reject them. I think they should be able to become permanent residents within a month, with a green card and all that.

Lol I love being right as always... @fishonjazz once again is wrong as always. BTW Trump was also right about weather and it's effects to viruses in which you went and hid after I put you in your place.

This is a pretty good description of what I'd ideally like as well (though I'd prefer no limit).

Person shows up at border - checks in, doesn't show up on any sort of Interpol list and is allowed on their way. Is given a little packet of info about where to go to become a resident (and hopefully eventually a citizen), info on language lessons should they need them, and perhaps some job contact info.

Yep. I don't think I'm owed the opportunities the U.S. has to offer anymore than anyone else.
