2020 Presidential election

The weird thing is the President of the United States cannot force idiot Democrats to run their states properly. Weird that you don't know that already.
You would whine that he is a FaScIst!!!!!

In other words, was the governor of Florida, following Trump’s urging to states to open back up, running his state properly? That Republican governor even stood on the White House lawn, screaming at reporters, asking them why was the coronavirus not exploding in Florida like it did in NY., and as the medical community and liberal press had suggested it would. The governor was following Trump’s directive to open up. Trump got Florida to do as Trump suggested. Did it turn out to be a “proper” directive from Trump? Overall, more Republican states **** up, listening to Trump, than Democratic states who did not listen to Trump. Trump “forced” Republican governors to run their states improperly.

You guys are blind fools. New York has had 30k+ deaths and Florida has 10k with a larger population. Save your BS for someone else.

New York was hit first before Florida.

Florida also has 4x the number of pneumonia deaths this year as normal. Funny how that happened. Why would Florida be cooking the numbers if covid is a weak *** hoax? Why would pneumonia be so bad, just in Florida?

Florida could’ve saved lives but insisted on opening up early as Donald demanded. I know it’s hard to quantify in our minds, but 10,000 dead is a lot of dead grandparents, mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters. People who would be alive today had their governor listened to medical experts rather than go on all fours and open up wide for Trump. Just as you do, every single day.

Right back at ya, big fella. Point being, the governor of Florida was premature in his trolling, and his citizens paid for his obedience to Trump. One of 3 Republican states where cases exploded after Dr. Trump’s advice was followed.

Florida has been under-reporting numbers by at least half, unless you are such a blind fool that you think they are suffering a summer influenza epidemic.

Yeah, but he was very pleased that the governor of Florida, just one example, responded to the coronavirus exactly as he himself did. Like a clueless, anti-science moron with zero concern for human life. Kinda like a fascist when one thinks about it.
From what I've seen I think you spelled FaScIsT wrong.

So are you saying those people with pre-existing conditions deserve to die anyway, so Republicans are right to want to reopen the country before we have a handle on the virus?

Most Americans have pre-existing conditions; obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, bad cholesterol, etc...

Here’s the thing, if covid is so weak why is Donald tested Everyday? Why are people prior to meeting with donald tested? If Covid is such a hoax why have most countries taken measures to limit it? I understand the right wing in this country believes it’s an anti-Trump hoax. But why have countries with opposite foreign policy and economic agendas taken measures to limit Covid?

The correlation is not total population but population density and how early the state was in the whole crisis. New York was one of the first states with heavy cases before mitigation measures were wide-spread, but you do show all the ability for nuanced thought we expected.

Oregon seems to be the most impressive state in terms of having fewer than I'd expect for covid deaths (some states more urban, hit earlier, travel hot spots, pre-existing health conditions more common, etc).

Some states are younger. I’ve always thought of Oregon as a “young person state” but haven’t actually looked at the demographics. I wonder if that’s figuring into Oregon’s low mortality rates? Utah has the lowest median age population in the nation and a population that largely refrains from smoking tobacco. That undoubtedly helps.

Of course, age isn’t always the greatest factor in death rates. Japan’s median age is really old yet due to policies and practices, their death rates have remained low. Had japan done what Trump and DeSantis have done, they’d be Looking at a complete catastrophe. I wonder what policies Oregon has put into place? Do you know? Utah was one of the first states to shut down schools. Then, the dominant religion messaged memebers to encouraging them to wear masks. Ironic that some of the most active members on social media are leading the crusade against masks @Eric moustos...

It’ll be interesting in coming years to see which policies were most effective and how genetics, lifestyle, and age effected things.

Oregon's actually kind of old according to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_median_age

But I really have no idea on their regulations, have a couple cousins out that way, will have to ask :)

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I’d definitely be interested in what policies the state has enacted and what your family’s experience has been.

I had a friend cross into Canada and they were given a long list of things they had to agree to. They had to self-quarantine for two weeks. Coming back into America they weren’t asked anything.
