Just once I’d love for a guy to be asked about another player and say “dude looks like *******... not sure what he did in the offseason but it wasn’t in a gym.”

I hope he's good, and I'll reserve judgment for later, but I'd hate to see a changing narrative from "we don't need anymore wing defenders, we have Oni. Oni is good. He's our defensive stopper and we believe in him," to [sometime next year] "lol, he was the last pick in the draft. I swear, some of y'all have unrealistic expectations. What did you expect?"
 
Seeing several quotes that Joe Ingles stayed in utah all offseason. That meant he spent more time in practice facility. Hopefully he is in shape.
 
Manu from the Spurs was the 59th pick. Not saying Oni is that level but where he is drafted has little to do if he will improve and become a rotation guy.

I'm not concerned with where he was drafted. What I'm concerned about is those from the top really pushing him as the answer when we ask "uh, what about wing defense?" who, if he doesn't preform, will likely fall back on his draft order and talk down to us for apparently having way too high of expectations of guys (when they participated in significantly elevating those expectations).
 


Oni had some cool no gather lefty layups and really showed how explosive he can be off the dribble.
 
wow, it would be nice to be getting more news out of training camp. Maybe some video of the guys playing or interviews after practice. Something!!! I need my Jazz fix.

Yeah, the Jazz's website not even posting interviews anymore.
 
I have a dumb question, but why is it taking so long for signings to be officially announced? Is it COVID protocol? You just had the Shaq and Trevon Bluiett signings just announced. The same with young master Mr. Toolson and the Seton Hall big dude. I realize that Shaq will be the only one sticking around for the season.

What were the terms on the Bluiett contract? Do you know? Was it Exhibit 10?
 
I've noticed our players got measured with their shoes on. Mitchell is back up to 6'3", Royce has been promoted to 6'6" and Brantley is listed at 6'7".
