2021 NBA Draft Preview (new thread)

I’m meh on Ajayi. Mediocre length. Average athleticism. Seems soft on film, grabbing his stomach, his face, at **** that didn’t look that bad. Incredibly efficient but every Zags player always is. Like off the charts. So it means nothing. Especially when he was the fourth option and getting ridiculous open looks.

Primo is the guy. Draft him, have him work with Donovan for two months. Eat, sleep and breathe basketball at an accelerated pace. Sort of like Don did as a rookie on his own. He can become his legit wingman.

What’s your beef with Primo? He’s someone who won’t be a liability in any way IMO. Can do it all. The question is simply, how well. Given his age, and our supposed ability to develop players, I gotta think the kid could be really ****ing good by the time he’s 21-22.

I dont really have any beef with him, I'm just not going to rank him above dudes like Grimes/Springer/Christopher and other better 2-guards.

It means that is their exact and onliest target and they don't want anybody bogarting him before they can get him.

If he's not available they will draft a project big with prototypical size to stash in the g-league for a half a decade before giving someone a couple seconds to take him off their hands.

It is the (jazz) way.

Well consensus last year was Doke could have been had at maybe even 40 or later, so it's a pretty jazz pick.
 
At least Ayayi might play.

But back to the Doke pick (and Favors signing): the only scenario that begins to make sense to me is the Jazz were loading up as a hedge to if the Gobert extension talks went south.

But then they gave him all teh monies… if you load up for leverage maybe … I don’t know…. Maybe use it?
 
I think Vrenz actually has fringe All Star potential. Everything would have to go right for him and he'd have to be in the right situation, but his shooting touch and passing vision are legit. Another possible outcome for him could be Nic Batum.

We love locking into mediocre draft prospects early. I swear to god if you cornered JZ and tied him up you could pull off his mask scooby Dok style and it’d be DL… then you’d pull off that mask to reveal…. KOC!!!!
 
Players in the draft whom I think have All Star potential: Cade, Mobley, Green, Suggs, Sengun, Moody, Giddey, Jalen Johnson, Keon Johnson, Roko, Thor and maybe Vrenz.
