Nah... that is too small a piece to have any factor at all. They likely have someone they like and the player might even go undrafted... but if you draft them they can make 900k the first year instead of 1.7m. You save $800k... if you are in the tax you save 2x or 3x times that... so you pay $2M to save $2-3M and get a guy you want. I think they did it early because the price could rise... although Givony says the price may fall... I am not sure he is factoring in how many tax teams are out there.
Jazz should offer Udoka and #30 to Houston for #24 if Garuba is there. It might not work, but they should try.

KOC has us taking Tre Mann now in his latest mock draft.
And not that it concerns us, but he said Atlanta is offering Cam Reddish and 20 to move into the late lottery.

Everything single mock at 30 is "The Jazz are probably going to trade this pick so I'm just going to put who is BPA in this slot"

I think they already have the framework for a couple deals in place… will just wait to execute the right one depending on how the draft shakes out. Way to much smoke to this fire… unless it’s an extreme case of group think.
Favors/30 to OKC for 36 then we draft Wieskamp.
This would probably be my best case scenario for tonight. I love Wieskamp.

So Philly playing the role of dumbass that we played last year by moving too early on draft day. Glad it seems we learned our lesson.
I kind of have a feeling something big happens with the Jazz tonight (defined by me as someone other than Favors getting traded).

Same. I think this is the most smoke I’ve ever seen around the Jazz before a draft.
The fact that the Jazz are tight-lipped about trades and have a relationship with the Pacers through David Morway makes the Jazz a potential candidate to be the mystery team. I think it would take Bogdanovic to move up to #13 though, probably in a 3-team deal.
