2021 NBA Draft Preview (new thread)

I thought they were going in a new direction and would be doing solid work but I just don't know. Just get KAT out there.
They punishing Kat for making them trade for DLo... oh you want him... now he's your pg have fun.

Nets own too many picks this draft. Some of them should be on the move. 27, 29, 44, 49, 59.

They will go out and find two shooters to put around LBJ, AD and Westbrook/Caruso in certain playoff matchups. AD is a unicorn nobody can contain except the trainer.

If we trade Favors, we lose that extra big to work on AD. They will attack Rudy until he gets in foul trouble then feast.

If we stayed together, we have a chance. But we are about to sell remember.

You gotta start being specific: who are these great shooters out there for the minimum? Specifically, who is the mystery big forward that meets all of these criteria?

to echo @zyzz , I vastly prefer this to the Hield deal (assuming they get a reigned-in version, which I think they would). Westbrook is almost a dream-scenario for me with how destructive he is to his own teams. He's gonna be on his 4th team in 4 years, and each time he is traded the team he is traded from blows it up after they are mysteriously worse once they get him. Pretty amazing legacy. He's also the guy OKC chose over Harden, and who made KD less effective.

I am HERE for their stupid ****ing trade.

D'Lo wasn't a bad pick-up necessarily. Minny needs something that resembles good on court production so they can remind themselves that they are a basketball team. Things are just weird there. I would burn everything down and build again but KAT is loyal and with everything going on with him, I just wouldn't be able to trade him if he didn't demand it.

The trade to complain about is Nets getting a first for Shamet and nabbing Carter. I think I might like Carter more than Shamet and they now have two firsts in this draft.

Don’t think it’s a bad trade for MIN. Prince can maybe play, they might get to use their full MLE now, and the 2022 WAS might be good too.

Suns made a much worse trade.

I actually like Prince (someone I'd like for the Jazz) and I think he fills a need for Minnesota at the 4.

I love the Westbrook (for the rest of the league) if that happens. Definitely would take that over the Lakers getting a legit shooter in Hield.

Yeah... Shamet is over-rated imo. I like Carter... and a first... Suns couldn't get a second stuck in there... Brooklyn has like 3 of those too.

Death, taxes, and Robert Sarver going out of his way to pinch pennies at the expense of building a better team.

I probably won't spend time on this, but I seem to remember the list of such casualties including peaking Joe Johnson, the pick that became Rondo, Iggy or the pick that became Iggy, and some others.

that trade can't happen without a Schroeder sign and trade... but it does imply that Beal may be on his way out.
I think it works without Schroeder. When the amounts get that high you have a lot more wiggle room to be within 125% of matching salaries.
