2023 NBA Draft Megathread

There are enough reports of this type of stuff to buy into Black being an A+ teammate and worker. All of these guys require some level of "gamble"... you just feel better betting on guys that are about the right things. Would be happy with Anthony at #9.

He won’t be there at 9. We will have to move up if we want him.

never been a huge fan of black, but he's always been a guy i would be happy with at 9. high bball iq, high effort, defends, makes good decisions, etc. positional size and athleticism doesn't hurt. i do agree with EH however that he probably won't be there. i think nba people like him more than this board.

Maybe not. I think the Wiz at #8 are the biggest threat unless someone trades up. I don't think Indiana, Orlando, Detroit are looking pg... but if they see him as bpa then maybe. Maybe Houston takes him at #4 as I've seen or maybe they move back... I'd say there is a 50/50 shot he's there.

I think Black is great option at #9, but I don't think he is worth the cost of trading up to get him and I am not entirely sure we cannot get someone just as good at #9 even if he is gone. Someone has to be there among Walker, Cam, Ausar, and Hendrix if Black is off the board. I'd like any of them.

It’s kind of a win-win. As long as Black is in the tier where there is a clear separation after #9 then we are getting someone good.

If you don’t like Hendricks or Black at #9 is where someone could be let down, but I’m feeling like I’ll be happy no matter what now.

he can't make threes. it makes no sense.
What makes sense is any playmaker that cannot score off the dribble like AB, with no pull up game or outside shot that is reliable yet, only has going for them their defensive IQ, and the size to back it up against smallish guards, He is right now a smart energy wing forced off ball, which lowers his value, but hey he can be a seconadary ball handler, when he has 3 elite shooters on the court at all times. I guess he would be serviceable if there were 4 that are enough of a threat to keep defenses honest until the playoffs when they won't play lazy and force him to shoot.
In the end his shooting is so bad, he has to be creating record numbers of turnovers into offense and be an all nba defender as a rookie to justify starting him at the 1. with the one exception being, this org is trading LM and starting a long developmental rebuild, then you are just rolling the cide like SAS did with Dejounte at 29th overall
Yes AB should be considered a wing that can defend and create some offense off the bench, but he is this drafts RJ Barrett, and if that is worth taking over elite shooters or some other win now prospect than so be it. I doubt it.

I’m super cool with like 12 guys at #9.

I definitely thought he could. He got some feedback and decided that one more year could push him into the lottery. Honestly the right decision. Look forward to watch him on Wake next season.
He ain't going back to wake doe.
