Why are other freshman ranked higher? That's a legit question with what should be an obvious answer. How did people come to the conclusion that other freshman are ranked higher? This goes for any two players really, doesn't even have to be freshman. Usually when a prospect comparison is brought up, the talking points are usually how good they are and not whether they will declare or not. You rank one player higher than the other if you think they are better. That's how big boards work.
That is why I'm confused when the response to X is higher than Y because draft declaration status. Is Saint trying to say that Bailey is under the radar? If Bailey came out today and said I am one or done no matter what, it would have no impact on his big board status. He is ranked where he is because that's how people perceive how good he is. The reason people don't think he will declare is because they don't think he's a top 30 (or whatever prospect). They aren't excluding him in the top 30 because they don't think he will declare. JHS didn't rise because people know he will declare, he rose because of his play and people think he will declare because of his play.
