This is why I hesitated to compare him to guys like Lonzo/Giddey which you see a lot. I think those guys are both elite passers and have exceptional basketball IQ. They are on another level. I think Black's most likely outcome is more like a Terrance Mann type. Defense he will great like you said. Offensively...we'll have to wait and see. I worry that he might get caught in the dilemma where he's best with the ball in his hands (due to a lack of shooting) but also not very good with the ball. The Exum concern is kinda valid, though I think he will be better than that.
 
Watching Flip… ya know I think he’s third on my board… he’s the third highest Duke player on my board.

He probably has a monster second half but he doesn’t look like the baller I was promised… also has that Rod Hood tummy…

Quite convenient you haven’t watched him all season and you magically watched the first half he "struggled" in. Still has 5 boards and his team is up 17 at half. Brandon Miller must suck too. How many points did he score today?

If Giddey had played college ball at Arkansas it would look a lot like Black does on offense. He’s flawed but he will be a much better player than Dante.

I have watched him before lol. I literately said I’ll watch this with fresh eyes… and it’s not great this far. Lively is by far the most impactful player on the court… whitehead’s jumper looks wet… I just don’t see Flips game translating real well. He looks slow…

Brandon millers stats don’t suck… not sure why I’d judge him like that.

Black isn't in the same territory of passer/plamaker as Giddey IMO. Giddey was an outstanding playmaker in the NBL at a younger age. He was an elite passing prospect. I agree that Black will better than Dante, I said as much in the post you quoted, but Giddey was a special passer and Black is not at the level.
 
I get that college basketball is bad, gleaue is bad, ote is bad, insert any league is bad. I don't disagree with that. But it's not a catch all excuse for every problem lol.

My point is it would be tough to see how good of a passer Giddey would be if he was on this Arkansas team…only watched like 5 minutes today but in the past it was Black driving kicking to an open shooter who pump fakes and goes into traffic… he’s made good passes in pick and roll some lead to assists and sometimes in drop there’s just nothing there…

In NBA space Black could look just so much better as a driver… just having a good shooter or two would give him some options. And I know the nba space things applies to a lot of dudes… but I think it’s a bit more impactful for him with how he plays.

No one is going to guard him in the NBA to let him drive and he does everything below the rim despite being 6'7.
 
Top 8 picks in some order are likely Victor, Scoot, Miller, both Thompsons, Whitmore, Walker and Keyonte. If the Jazz miss out on all that, it's Dick or Black, maybe Hendricks, with our first pick. For me, that would be a disappointment. I guess I'd probably take Black.
