2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Serious risk for Cam and Black.

Could be a strong play for Flip though.
Is it? I'm not a future drafts guy, I don't scout HS players at all, but the people who do are saying that everyone in the top 5 for next year wouldn't even be close to cracking the top 5 this year.

Could Whitmore actually go #1? Could Black? Obviously I don't think Filipowski would have a shot at going top 5 in any draft, but his angle would probably be more guaranteed lottery.

If you are surefire lotto you go… no questions asked. The second contract is where the money is… not in improving your draft stock from 5 or 10 to 3 or 4 or whatever.

Theres this crazy thing called NIL money that makes what you said not 100% true anymore, especially if you think you have a legit chance at #1.

Lol… yeah they gonna make 35m in NIL money.

Get to your second contract… if it’s max it might be like 250M+ the way the cap is headed. Also risking a guaranteed lotto spot for some small NIL money is insanely stupid. First deal is life changing money… second deal is generational wealth… but risk it cuz you can make a little dough in college. Risk is so much greater than the reward.

Now Kyle likely goes in the second round… so it makes sense for him.

At the very least, isn’t Hendricks Jaden McDaniels? A frontline of Walker, Jaden, and Lauri would be incredible.

Our first pick better be a long athletic dude, Dick or Hendricks. I like Wallace but not with our first pick. This team needs a lot more athleticism and lengthy compete with the Grizz, Kings, Pelicans, etc of the world.

If Hendricks floor was Jaden McDaniels he’d be going top-5. Let’s not get ridiculous here.

Flip is closer to the lottery than second round.

I’m trolling now… I don’t actually think he lasts until second round and don’t think he stays 4 years.

I think I’d show Taylor clips from a few dudes. Mcdaniels would be one for sure. It depends on how his body fills out. If he becomes a bit more fluid and less upright then some of what Jaden does will apply. Taylor has shades of RoCo, Jaden, Collins but some of the stuff he projects to do better than those guys (some worse). Give him to Hardy and let him mold him.

I’m fine with all of those comparisons but to say his floor is McDaniels is ridiculous.

So if you’re Cam you risk injury for the potential to go from like 4-6 for maybe a chance at 1?

No one with an ounce of sanity would advise him to do that.

Did you factor in the 300k he will get in NIL doe?

Tay Henny may go much earlier than the 9th - I have seen 6th in a mock. If that happens because sometimes GM's go conservative let's hope Cam or Ausur falls somehow.
That would be great for us. Pushes a better player down to our pick.

Flip would have a lot to gain by going back if he didn’t get the draft intel he wanted. He could be in discussion for NPOY and be a lottery pick next year.

Well higher ceilings but there's something about this class. I think a couple of guys will crumble if they are put in bad circumstances. Hendricks role would be easy on this team and by consequence he could flourish.
