2023 NBA Draft Megathread

(I genuinely can’t think of a way to say this without HH giggling) I’m getting more high on Dick than I have been recently. I think he will be in the league a very long time and a dude every team wants/needs.

I revisited Tay Henny last night, trying to tell myself to look at him from another perspective and try to hate him. Came away loving him more. Legit all-star upside Imo.

I watched Black again last night. I’ve gone back and forth on him every month. Still “eh” on him again after that.

I think Wallace is in the league for a very long time and similar vein as my thoughts on Dick above, a dude every team in the league wants.

I agree with all of this. I think Dick and Wallace are both very safe picks...they may not have as much star potential or upside as some of the other players, but I think they will both be starter level players in the league for a really long time.

It’s still early in the process but Black and Hendricks are my two favorite realistic picks at 9 currently. Black reminds me of a slightly smaller but better ball handling Scottie Barnes and Hendricks reminds me of Jaden McDaniels with higher scoring upside but slightly lower defensive upside. No comparisons are ever going to be adequate enough but that’s the best way I can explain both of them.

I’m the exact opposite, let’s revisit in 5 years.

It's very close tbh. Last week, I would have been with you, and next week I might be with you as well lol.

Gernerally, I think Cason > Black, but I think Hardy would do a good job developing Black and suring up some of those question marks. Cason will probably end up the better player in like 7/10 of scenarios though. As for Dick.....I'm finding his weird shooting/shot making appealing. It could be what breaks him out of the role player mold. I like Hendricks too, but I think he's more likely to settle into a role and (offensively at least) doesn't have that certain skill that will make him into a higher usage player. I think both players most likely outcome is a really good player who you like to have, but Dick has more potential to be more than that as an exceptional shooter.

Random thought, I think POR and UTA are really good trade partners. There's a good chance POR is sitting with the choice of Cam/Ausar. Those are good prospects, but probably not the type of prospect they are looking for. I know they want to trade the pick for vet help, but if they can't get a deal done I think Dick/Hendricks are both much more natural fits for them than Cam/Ausar.

What would the trade be, 7+43 for 9+28? Not terrible IMO.

TLDR version Bohdi wants Dick

I honestly think Tay’s defense will be his single best attribute and better overall here than McDaniels.

Then factor in Hendricks is a lob threat/rim finisher and high level 3 pt shooter…….good god. Modern NBA’s wettest dream.

If we move up from 9 to 7 it will at least be the 28th pick… might require a bit more.
