2023 NBA Draft Megathread

It’s kinda funny he thinks an 80 shot sample size by an 18 yo is going to sway gms when they’ve been watching him since HS, team USA, workouts, etc, and they understand that 18 year olds are raw with ridiculous room for improvement.

I mean there are some GMs that are set to take a couple of 20 year olds who can't hit the broad side of a barn in the top 6 or so. . .

They really aren’t though. For example, Demar Derozan is a 49% shooter from 3-16 ft and 46 from 16ft to 3pt. Devin Booker is a career 46% shooter from mid range.
Let’s say there are. Who scores above 60% from the mid-range? How long is the list?

I just think Cam has the highest bust potential outside of the twins in the top 10. Looking through past top 10 bust/disappointments, he fits the description. Still have him in that 6-8 range, but I would steer clear of him if I was Detroit/Houston/Orlando

Just getting caught up today, I see Locke is now all in on Bufkin. Before today it kind of seemed like he was leaning Hendricks and Wallace. Interesting.

I agree with everything, other than I do think those three should consider him simply due to his upside and I don’t think there are other guys move the needle as clearly better options

I just hate the fit. Cam needs spacing around him. Also think his lack of IQ/feel would not improve as much on a super young team. He needs a vetish team and spacing. Those three teams all have enough high end talent at this point too imo. They should be thinking about fit, especially in a case like this where there are equally good options.

If the Jazz want to draft the point guard of their choice, they'll have to do it at #9. At #16, there are likely a couple guards left over, but the Jazz will be having their choice made for them. So Locke may be trying to sell his listeners on drafting Bufkin at #9, or on making some kind of move up from #16 to get him.
