2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Black de-commited from the zags to go to Arky. I like his potential but i would rather have JHS. Id take bilal at 9 and see what guard is left at 16 personally. Given zags player development history, Black chased money overall in college. Don’t get that choice still. Poor decision? Just my opinion. Clearly not a musselman fan

Lol at some of this… if you are drafting Black to throw him in the corner like Josh Green then you probably should go a different direction. No reason not to get the kid reps as a pg when we have no established pgs on the roster really. If that’s the plan pick a different prospect full stop.
sure someone will probably draft him thinking they can live with and or need a tank commando, and use AB in that way . But in the end it will likely prove he was overpicked by the time it comes around to sign an extension, and he will get less than Sexton did
I don't understand why people are struggling with that concept. He can already guard multiple positions and he's 19 his shot will begin to develop.
I corrected it for you smh
He sucks bad as a shot taker and maker. He has no pull up game and is not going to be given on ball usage, his first couple seasons, not on any decent team anyway. He can be plugged in as a pg on a tanker, or as a secondary on a play in hopeful team, lacking back court defense, but has to have multiple floor spacers every time he is out there. I just cannot see him having any success as a floor general and is more likely a undersized garbage man

There are a few players in this draft I would give up the Lakers pick to acquire. I am hoping Justin and Danny feel the same.

For instance this year's 10th is worth the estimated value of the 2027 7th/8th pick which by probability is the likely spot for the Lakers pick .

I am sorry but Black is NOT a better defensive player than Wallace, and frankly I don’t think it is close. Black is 5th on that list. What a crazy post. Box and one just lost a lot a of credibility. This is like a Reddit fan ranking.

I don’t think you have watched much Black film based off of your comments. Should probably do that and get back to me.

Stocks per/40:

Black - 3.1
Wallace - 3

Black:

3.4 STL%
1.8 BLK%
DWS - 2.4
DBPM - 3.9

Wallace:

3.7 STL%
1.6 BLK%
DWS - 1.6
DBPM - 4.2

To say it’s not even close is such a bad take it’s not even funny. Be better @kcgar.

Even if it is close I’ll take the 6’6 (w/o shoes) player with a 6’7.5 wingspan over a 6’2.5 (w/o shoes) player with a 6’8.5 wingspan all day.

he is 6'6 and he wasn't 6' this time last year smh. you got a lot of bs to support your arguments imo. the take on Giddey isn't bad, but Black is what he is and that isn't good enough for 9th
I read that he shot up 6" last year earlier in this thread. Just part of the echo chamber I guess.

Most mocks have black in the lottery and many have him at 9 or before. So... we will see if the league agrees or not.

Ya if it was only size and defense then i would lean slightly in favor of black. If I add shooting, assists and turnovers then I sway back over to Wallace.

Wallace beats him in almost every category that Eliza put and he is 4” shorter. That tells me a lot.

I think some of you are going to be in for a rude awakening on draft night when Black goes top-8 and Wallace falls to the late lottery.
Even if he does as projected go top 10, which would not surprise me, given how many orgs pick for tank commandos. it does not make him a great prospect for the Utah org.
I mean If they really are in the business of just adding some projects to this roster or more specifically a prospect like Black who is nothing more than a defender with size at the 1 that can pass some, but cannot score, hell cannot reliably even shoot. Then they are far more likely to target Sidy at 16 who when on ball showed just as much playmaking if not more than Black, has a more promising shot mechanics, than overpay for a similar archetype. The take he is def a pg is pretty much a joke to me. He is a wing that has playmaking skills that got handed the keys in college and did ok but nothing special at all given the opportunities he had.
