2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Lmao told yall
wait, what? of course sexton is available. did somebody think he was untouchable? lol. ftr, every bench player on every team who has been in the league for 5+ years and averages less than 15 ppg is available - my, uh, sources have, uh, told me.

my sources have also told me kris dunn is available. also, kelly olynyk could be had via trade if the price is right. but i only know this because i have sources. the rest of you peons wouldn't know that. you're welcome.

That’s the biggest question we’ve been pondering since yesterday. It’s looking like a real nightmare situation.

I don’t think it’s a nightmare situation. I am super skeptical of both twins, but 9 isn’t a bad spot to take a risk.

Having said that, I do think if you’re taking a chance on the measurables you might as well go Bilal. Wemby was hyping up his guy, but he also had a point. Why not take the guy who is younger, longer, and played against a higher level of competition.

Bufkin also feels like a top 10 pick to me. Very few weaknesses on his profile, but he also has the peaks that make me think he could be a star.

I’ve never been a Bilal fan…

But gun to my head right now, damn it, I’m going Bilal over Ausar.

I think he has a higher ceiling and worth the risk at #9.

Go big or go home.

Now I understand why people say teams go for upsides closer to the draft.. lol..

What do we think we can get for Sexton? Would he be enough to move from 9 to 7? Or from 16 to 10 or something...

Jazz offer Collin Sexton + protected 1st for Bertans and #10. Jazz then take Bilal or Bufkin at #10. It's expensive, but probably what the Jazz would need to do if they're offering their picks to Detroit for #5. Dallas gets a player who can play off the bench for them, or a contract that has more trade value than Bertans.

I think if you combine rumors, the Jazz may be simultaneously trying to trade up to #5 for Walker and to #7 for Black, in order to see which deal they can get. That would make sense.

If the Jazz were exclusively hunting Black, they could trade up to #6 with Orlando. If Orlando wants Black, then the Jazz would need to get to #5. In that case, #7 does them no good.

If the Jazz get to #5, they get to choose between Amen and Jarace.

If the Jazz get to #7, they get to choose between Ausur and Black.

Both moves maybe worth making. Assume that Cam is the odd man out for whatever reason.

To add to this, if we reach for Bilal at 9 or whoever we take Tony and others will say we would have taken that same player at 5.
Now if this happens with Whitmore it would be believable.

BTW, how ****ing hilarious would it have been if the Jazz had the 5th pick in 2020 and actually did draft Doke? LMAOAOAOAO
