I get why they did the trade, I'm just surprised that they're getting such awful value.
Should have waited until draft night and probably could have gotten a better deal.

A bit hyperbolic. Anything could happen with that 2024 pick. Picks 29 and 32 where 24 hours from tremendously dropping in valueI get why they did the trade, I'm just surprised that they're getting such awful value.
Yeah, maybe. FWIW, fractures not on a joint are almost nothing in the hierarchy of injuries with long term implications. Severe sprains are worse. Cam seems to be functioning just fine.He missed his freshman year of highschool because of a broken leg so it may have to do with that.
It's the knee, not thumb, from what I've been toldYeah, maybe. FWIW, fractures not on a joint are almost nothing in the hierarchy of injuries with long term implications. Severe sprains are worse. Cam seems to be functioning just fine.
I’ll just throw out there that maybe it is the thumb. I am having a thumb issue and am not even positive what I did but it’s been nagging for months. It’s ounce for ounce the most important part of our musculoskeletal system and it hangs out, too, so it might be a problematic healing process or something.
Like a meniscus thing or a cartilage bone on bone thing? It's the knee, not thumb, from what I've been told
Actually, it's a decent deal. Roster spots are more valuable than picks for them and they just didn't have the space to absorb all those rookie deals. The pick next year will probably be higher than what they gave up, so it works for well for their needs. Granted, next year's class isn't as good, but that's future Pacers problem. That sounds like awful value for Indiana.
Present picks are more valuable than future picks, and this draft in particular is supposed to be deep as hell compared to next. Why trade 29 and 32 of this year's draft for 40 and something likely in the ball park of 26-30 in next year's draft?
Be careful with Ainge... dude is a bit of a contrarian... when all signs point one way they could very well be going a different direction.Anti Black fans may hate it, but all signs point to Black being highly valued over Cam, Jarace and others. Let it sink in now and process it. If Ainge loves him then maybe it will be fine.
Greg Oden had one leg longer than the other and it’s insane to me he was drafted first. Brandon Roy had worn off a bunch of meniscus before he even played in the league, had terrible trainers, and meniscus replacement surgery is new. Zion relies on his athleticism while he actively exacerbates his condition because he likes eating and not playing basketball more than he likes basketball. Derrick Rose didn’t come into the NBA with issues so far as I know, he just played a style of basketball early on that was warfare on his joints.Yeah but Greg Oden, Zion, Brandon Roy, Derrick Rose..
Its not ideal... but its also a lesson for us... we have 3 picks in 2025 and 4 in 2027. Look to move one to move up this year if a good opportunity arises... or use one to get a win now player... avoid this crunch in 2027 if you have a GOOD opportunity to do so.Actually, it's a decent deal. I said all I know. Don't have detailsLike a meniscus thing or a cartilage bone on bone thing?
Get me an MRI damn it!!!!I said all I know. Don't have details
Givony gonna update like six more times... smoke season has been crazy this year.ESPN updated their mock. Has Whitmore going 8 and Utah taking Hendricks.
This is my nightmare.
It makes the most sense though. Hendricks is the least decorated of the guys considered to be the top prospects. He doesn't have the HS/AAU career to fall back like the others so he drops to 9. Utah has to make a choice between him and Bilal (this is what Thulein said on the pod today as well, but he had Utah taking Bilal).Givony gonna update like six more times... smoke season has been crazy this year.
Agreed. Probably all Indy could go given the circumstances. Asset consolidation needs to happen at some point. Its not ideal... but its also a lesson for us... we have 3 picks in 2025 and 4 in 2027.
