2023 NBA Draft Megathread

What exactly do you think I'm making up? Hendricks is a fine prospect if you're looking for your 3rd or 4th guy to space the floor and play off of your stars. He'd fit nicely in Dallas. OKC likes him at 12. The Jazz need star power in their backcourt and at the wing. Hendricks won't bring that.
The Jazz need everything besides a Markkanen and a Kessler.

I said this year buddy. Your takes have been garbage.
Cool story. I at least dont pretend to know things I dont know. If I get information that makes me change my mind, I change my mind. I dont bury my head in the sand and act like anything to the contrary of my current belief is hearsay.

Its just funny to declare Bilal having xyz in his bag already and being able to add abc on top of it...

Okay now do the same with Taylor? Is he a 30 year old? He's going to be a good secondary rim protector that may be able to be a primary small ball rim protector... why do we try and invalidate that by saying 1.5 blks in non-conference...yada yada... while declaring Bilal awesome based on a few playoffs games?

Taylor shot the ball really well for a guy that can play as a big... why do we assume Bilal will as well?

Bilal is theoretical and has more unknown... does not necessarily equate to a higher ceiling. He's fine I like him... but its tough to be sickened at the thought of Taylor and in love with the mystery grab bag.

The most obtuse comp of the draft season happened when you said Anthony Black was like Scottie Barnes. Maybe have some humility.

I said a smaller better passing Scottie Barnes. By the way:

Since 2010 there has been only five 6’5+ Freshman college players who have averaged at least 10 PPG, 4 RPG, 4 APG, 1.5 SPG.

Anthony Black
Scottie Barnes
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Lonzo Ball
Ben Simmons

This is where I have settled on him. I'm not sky-high on him, but what he allows you to do is a lot more exciting than what he himself necessarily does. I think there is a universe where he can switch across all positions, hits 40% from 3, and his defense/rebounding allows the Jazz to unleash Lauri at the 5 and legitimate (not gimmick) switch-everything scheme.

Honestly, I might prefer taking Bilal or Bufkin. Bilal is not everyone's taste, and I get that, but I think you could argue that Bufkin has the most star potential on the board at #9 if Hendricks is the one who falls.

I don't love the 4/5 fit with him and Lauri. I prefer someone with Jarace's body type and toughness, but Hendricks might get around that by putting on some more weight.

You don’t understand European ball dweeb.

My god the lack of self-awareness in one single post is astounding.

Elite athleticism and length opens up more possibilities. It is what it is. Maybe we are wrong, but I think it's inarguable that Bilal possesses tools that few other prospects do.

ANd he's already leveraged those tools to helping his team win high level basketball games.

Unless Scottie Barnes is actually a guard who plays on the ball and runs your offense, the comp is a complete miss. Anthony Black scores some points, grabs some rebounds and dishes out some assists. Congrats.

If you are not in love with Bilal as a prospect, I get it, but if you are making up statistics out of thin air you are a very unserious person. You should not have to make up statistics to argue against a player.

Definitely jarring seeing people be so insistent on their opinions when we haven't seen any of these dudes play for a second in the NBA. And so many of these players that people and teams really like will flame out spectacularly.

I know we are getting close, and people are very entrenched in their opinions, but this is plain weird to me. Anyone talking with knowledge about the draft should also be aware of what a crapshoot it is and not be so positive that one player will be better than another, and that liking a certain prospect is so idiotic.
