2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

Pelicans declining Herb's option this year to make him unrestricted is kinda weird. He can get the same type of offer as Reaves. I just... don't know what the plan is there.

Unless they ditch some serious salary that will throw them in the tax a year early.

Sorry to break it to you man but we will have to eventually. We have enough picks to get 2 stars plus some.
I agree, but now is not that time. Jazz don’t have any draft picks pending until 2025. No rush to get rid of them just to rearrange deck chairs on the edges of a play-in team. Every asset they use now is one less they can use on a star. I’d rather keep the powder dry for now and then make those moves after the core has been established. Right now, this team is completely in flux.

Agreed. Be patient.

Jazz have assets and contracts to go make a big move. Just combining Sexton ($17.3), Clarkson ($14.2) and Olynyk ($12.1) the Jazz have $43.7 million in salary to attach some picks to and go get a star player right now.

Danny Ainge is big game hunting as we speak. I don’t see any way that he’s sticking with the status quo with all the expiring deals he has AND the chaos that the new CBA has introduced into the free agent market this year.
