Not if they get assets for Dame. I actually think Dame is doing them a favor. They need to rebuild eventually, might as well start not and get whatever you can for him.
They're going to get Lowry, Herro, and a couple of firsts... maybe Jokic too at best.

Except John Collins was like 23 when the drama with his trade began... Grant is like 29...
The saving grace for Portland is the 2 guys they will build around, Sharpe and Scoot, will be on rookie scale contracts for the foreseeable future. They need to spend the money on someone although it would be more ideal if Grant were a few years younger.

Unfortunately Miami doesn't have great assets to trade for Dame. They only have 2 tradeable FRP's and not many young prospects. I doubt Blazers would want Herro or his contract. Jacquez and/or Jovic might be an interesting get for them.

Things change quickly. Bad news is Strus trade. He makes CLV much better so out First will get weaker.
he was good in the playoffs until he wasn't. I think he is overrated pick up for them. Niang on the other hand was a decent Love replacement and they really missed him in the playoffs. Weird front office over there letting Love go right before the playoffs . I bet they end up trading one of those guards by next summer though

Maybe Jaquez, jr. as well. Not ideal, but better than letting Dame waste away.

I'm not convinced the Blazers will only look to the Heat.

His contract could be pretty rough in a couple years. They get out of cap jail on top of whatever picks they get

I actually don’t think that Jerami Grant contract is that bad.
His max is almost twice that. He’ll be 34 when the deal is over. Bojan is 34 today. Ingles and Conley are gonna be 36 next season.

According to Jake Fischer we reached out to OKC about Micic on draft night. He just signed with OKC though for 3/23.5M. I think we are definitely looking for a PG.
I feel like Micic is going to add to a log jam of OKC guards. They may be willing to move one of them. Lord knows they love themselves nice future protected pick.

I would try and move it early rather than wait and it might be alright. It’s probably fine… just won’t net much back in a return. I legit think Dame waited to get Grant his money then requested the trade. Didn’t want to leave a homey stranded.

Excited to see if he translates
Offensively he very well might. His shot is so freakishly quick. And he has really high IQ and moves exceptionally well without the ball. The real question is - can he hold up enough on D for him to get enough time to show off his off-ball killer mentality.
