2024-2025 Tank Race

Yeah but it was due to injury, not talent, that he wasn't that.
Ok then we need a guy that gets results perennially without the injury issues. Or that is that perennial all-star that misses some games. Hell several stars miss entire seasons and still are in the discussion for MVP the very next year. We need a guy like that.

And in the end it's what have you done for me lately. And Williams just didn't deliver. Straight up. White wash it anyway you want. We need someone a couple steps ahead of d will. A solid step above Mitchell.

Williams was really great in the conference finals against the Spurs. The team around him just wasn't good enough and we had an outdated coach who didnt even take advantage of the shooters Utah had.

It’s starting to look like the Cavs pick will be in the late 20s, unless something happens to them. Twolves might give us a pick in the 18-22 range if other WC teams keep playing well.

The Cavs pick will be late, that's all but certain, but the Wolves pick still depends a lot on future injuries, I'd say. But the most likely outcome is obviously two relatively late picks.

A bunch of teams are probably going to come in around 48 or 49 wins. The 4th seed might be separated from the 8th seed by 2 or 3 games.

Gotta hope that DEN, PHX, GSW, DAL, NYK and MEM have healthy seasons.

Add DWill to what we got cooking and we’d be looking mighty fine.

This is going to come right down to the wire in April.

Insane talk. DWill at his peak was not far off from a smaller Luka doncic. I’d put him above Donovan during his career in Utah.

When you’re on the margins, one win (for a tanker) or one loss (for a contender) can swing your place in the standings pretty wildly. That Spurs win took the Jazz from stand-alone worst record to 3rd worst.

No ****ing around this year. Please.
And if we end up bottom 3 or 4 I am happy... but we got a few blessing early and it doesn't take much (2-3 wins in a 5 game stretch) to give away any kind of "lead". I got a little greedy and we really could have helped SA towards the play-in crowd. We really need to push the "Wemby overrated AF" agenda to get him/them to prove it. I think the teams we end up with are Porty/Washington and maybe Toronto (if Dick is good and Barnes comes back soon... they may be out of the top 3 race). SA or maybe NOP could join us. I think Det is solidly better than us. Hornets depends on health but if healthy they will be above the worst group at the bottom. Brooklyn may need to sell parts off for like 50 cents on the dollar. They are competitive every night. Not any high profile rookies to use for development time vet benching.

It's still early, but I think it's going to be Toronto, Utah, and Washington for the race to the worst record. All 3 teams look motivated to get the top spot and incapable of putting enough wins together just by chance. I think Portland and Brooklyn can join the race with a few trades which they both should be motivated to make.

If I had to guess the final standings for worst record I would go:

1. Washington
2. Utah
3. Toronto
4. Brooklyn
5. Portland
6. Chicago
7. DET
8. SAS
9. Not a team I'm currently considering a tanking team

Charlotte drops out of the tank race if healthy and goes for a play in

Maybe cuz I just watched them but SA kinda sucks ***. Think they are firmly in that 4-6 group. It feels like that is a solid top 9.

I'm really low on Chicago after watching them as well. I also don't think Detroit is going to be great. I think it's the bottom 3 and then the 4-8 group, but I'm ok if you think SAS is significantly worse than CHI/DET. I could definitely see them purposefully losing a lot of games at the end of the year once they are out of the play in race.
