I know there have been a few trade proposals discussed here with JC to SAC, can someone please summarize the possible trade packages?

I apologize for not paying closer attention to this until now.

Incoming salary would be Lyles and Huerter. SAC probably sending seconds or a protected first. Huerter can then be rerouted (I think ORL is a good destination for example) and you could probably pick up a little bit more.

I imagine that the Kings would be somewhat interested in Svi/Juzang as well, so the Jazz could include them to push the return higher.

We can tank with or without Sexton. OKC tanked with SGA on the team so I'm sure we can figure that out. We are currently 10-29 on the season with Sexton on the team so we are doing pretty well in that regard.

And we have tons of low quality picks from wolves/cavs already. How does adding one more bad pick to the fold help our rebuild? We now need valuable young players and high quality picks, not just any picks. We made that mistake with Ochai. Giving him up for a second round pick and now he's averaging 10ppg on 50/40 shooting split. Sexton is definitely worth more than just a late first rounder, especially when we still have more than one year of control.

And you mentioned asset management so I'm sure you understand the concept of depreciation? The more we have the less valuable they become. It's not like we can just go draft 3 or 4 rookies to the team every year. The last time I check we have 3 first round picks just for 2025 alone. At some point we have to put a stop and focus on the players we have, rather than selling them for more picks.

Sexton is not Shai. He's not worth keeping and he only has two years left on his contract.

Yes, we have a ton of picks. No, picks dont become less valuable the more you have. There are always a ton of teams who want picks and will pay for them. You can always package picks for other picks. You are being purposefully obtuse.

For the right price though. Bad pick is the last thing we want. We have too many of those. We still have like 3 late Cavs firsts to burn.

I think most rumors are just glazing other teams besides the Jazz. The amount of supposed trades the Lakers fans think they can get for Kessler is laughable. The Jazz ain't gonna trade him. One of them was like Kessler and Sexton for Jalen Hood-Schifino and Max Christie. Like Bro.

I will say, out of the guys said to be on the chopping block (Clarkson, Collins, Sexton) I cannot possibly see why the Jazz would trade Sexton or Collins. They are still young, play well, and really help the younger guys develop. They aren't even in their peak yet. The Jazz gave up Mitchell in the mindset of a 4 year 72MIL contract with Sexton as their future. And he could be a key piece. And they had been trying to get Collins for a while, and he is still not in his peak. Collins could train Filipowski and/or Cody Williams to be much better.

Clarkson makes sense, because he can't be a long-term piece now. He was supposed to be for mitchell and gobert but that time is long past. He isn't an ideal player for the Jazz now, but he is still good and can help a contender. Don't get me wrong, I love the tattoo-king, headband throwing, square-up-against-Kuminga legend, Filipino GOAT, Crazy Hair, crafty streaky 99-threes JC, but he has to go sometimes, whether I like it or not.

Much easier said than done. If it's so easy to package picks for other picks, why hasn't it happened already? We had 3 picks last year and we used all 3. Teams that are sellers would want way more than just your crappy picks. A late first hardly makes a difference.

JFC... how many times do we have to go through this?

Sexton's market value isn't set by the fans of his own team, it's set by the market.

Collin has basically been very available since he first donned a Jazz jersey – just like he was at Cleveland. But the market is saying "hard pass". I know it only takes one dumb GM, but it's looking like even the dumb ones have learned their lesson.

Sexton has no trade value.

Not sure if we get a first, protected first, pick swap or seconds but I’m sure we’d get some kind of draft capital back.

I guess you can always give him away and call that "having a market".

Not that Collier is better than Sexton, but it was nice seeing a guard who has more traditional PG vision/mindset. Collier isnt the best passer, but he does have good vision and foresight to set up passes with his actions. Dude cant shoot straight half the time, but I do like watching him. He's good enough that if there were two prospects on the board I felt similiarly about, and one was a PG, I would go with the non-PG if it was a true tie.

This is what i have been saying about Collier for a while. No one could get passed the glaring TO stats. But he is a pass first playmaker no doubt. It makes basketball more fun to watch than all of the ISO players we have! (Clarkson, Sexton, Brice, Keyonte)

Why would we want a first round from Magic if they have a young core that's gonna be good for a very long time? A pick locked somewhere in the 20s simply isn't enough for us to give up Sexton, especially given our own recent draft record

What is wrong with our draft record in the 20s? Both our lottery picks may look questionnable, but Key at 16, Brice at 28, Collier at 29 and Flip at 31 dont look like bad picks at all.

KOC brought up the Wolves/Jazz swapping Randle/Collins on his podcast today. I think he was implying the Wolves would add the Detroit pick

If you can just have a gentleman's agreement he stays home, that would be a great deal.

Before that they were talking about how bad Randle has been bad vibes wise and they think the Wolves are going to bench him soon.
