2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Kings should really trade DeRozan right now.

Some three team deal where they move DeRozan and get back John Collins and stuff makes sense.
That is a fine point, actually. Bit of a logjam there, they got other positions/skill sets to flesh out, and they don’t have any other salary to send out.

But who wants DeRozan? Outside of dealing him in a three-team, there is no avenue to getting Sexton or Collins there.

Yeah, the trick is finding who would want DeRozan. Especially because Brandon Ingram is probably getting moved in the next couple days and he's exactly the same as DeRozan... You basically need two teams that think they're a DeRozan away at the deadline and this probably won't happen.

DeRozan is healthy and under a long-term deal, so no, not really like Ingram and I doubt Ingram gets moved

You can repair Heurters value. The key is they get their pick back more than anything.
That's a tall order for a so-called shooter who only had one season shooting above 400 from beyond the arc. Joe Harris had a much better record shooting the ball but was out of the league entirely in one year when his shot stopped falling. Huerter's days in the league are numbered and it's nothing more than a salary dump for the Kings at this point.

Like I said. Bulls is still in the playin as things stand. PLUS their pick owed to SAS was top 10 protected anyways. If they wanted to keep their pick they could do so without giving up Lavine. And it's too late for them to outrank the likes of Wizs, Hornets, Blazers anyways. So they basically gave up Lavine for pick in the late lottery at best, while taking on a couple of bad contracts (Collins and Huerter) and a player they don't really need(Tre Jones).

Alright, let’s huddle to reassess: who are the potential suitors for the nexus JC/Collin(s) Triangle?

Sexton:
-Orlando
-Detroit
-Miami
-Sacramento if they’re trying to even out their roster?

Collins:
-San Antonio
-Miami?
-Sacramento if they’re trying to even out their roster
-…Philly???

Clarkson:
-Atlanta
-a bunch of possible places

Unless they loop it in the De’Aaron Fox deal, the John Collins to Sacramento trade idea is all but dead. They no longer have the tradable salary to make it happen.
The only way he and/or Sexton gets there is that or trading DeRozan and I don’t think either will happen.

That’s not true. Collins or Sexton can get there with Lyles + a minimum contract if looped in the Fox deal.

Listen… at these prices I walk away from the table. Kings got fleeced. Did they even get the ****ing pick swap that SA owns back???? How you don’t get Castle/Vassell OR any Atlanta picks is just nonsense.

It’s hard to demand a whole lot when a player can dictate where they’re going to be traded to.

The upshot is that more good players come to or stay in the West. The East gets worse. Just like always.

Not a FA until end of next year. Another team could sneak in there and offer better picks… do a side deal with Chicago later. Kings are just so impatient.
