2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Clarkson is having such a great season outside of the foot issues. Feel like all the playmaking skills he developed the last two years as a starter have finally translated as bench creator along with his explosive scoring ability.

Even before last night's injury I was thinking Sexton probably doesn't get traded this deadline.

I read that article a few weeks back about the bond between Collin and Collier. They grew up in the same area of ATL and youngster Collier looked up to Sexton and watched him play HS basketball. Sexton used to watch some of Collier's middle school AAU games. Sometimes those kinds of relationships in a lockerroom full of kids is more important than whatever return Ainge could get back in a trade. Ofc some team like ORL could come in and knock Ainge's socks off but I just don't see it happening.

The Jazz are expected to remain busy through the deadline, according to league sources. The usual trade suspects, veterans Jordan Clarkson and John Collins, are very available for the right prices. The Jazz value guard Collin Sexton, so trading for him would be a tougher ask of Utah’s front office. They greatly value center Walker Kessler, as he is already one of the top rim protectors in the league. Kessler is an apple in the collective eye of multiple NBA teams, but the asking price for the young center is very high, according to league sources.

From Tony Jones, doesnt look like Sexton is getting traded.

I don’t think Trader Dan is done, but I can’t even come close to predicting who might want our guys and what their actual market would be.

I still think that the Jazz should try to consolidate JCx2 into one single guy (especially because that market feels depressed) but that might be a move that’s better saved for the offseason - after the lottery balls drop.

With Milwaukee wanting out of the Middleton business I know we mentioned that 2031 pick... but that Sexton/Collins/Svi (doesn't have to be in it) for Khris/Portis/Connaughton works to get them out of the 2nd apron. That is a premium pick and we see that we value those at like 3 to 1 versus bad picks. Thats the one big deal I could see. Portis could be recycled and Khris could also rehab value next year. We could also add some seconds to help Milwaukee. I think there is enough tinder there potentially. Wonder if JZ still has some connections to the Mil front office he can "Pelinka".

Tony mentioned Denver's interest with Clarkson. It would have to be a 3 for 1 and I wonder if they'd put up their last first to do it... the salary coming back is bad but JC is iffy salary too.

Nico has now traded Grimes for Caleb Martin? Grimes has been great this year. They don’t want to pay anyone lol.
Yeah but at least they gave a second rounder to do it.

Will they give us Naji for Clarkson? As long as the player the Mavs are getting back is older it doesn’t matter that they aren’t better.
Uhhh you do know PJ Tucker is 50 right... might even get a first for that.

Actually love that trade for the Mavs. Having the security knowing Martin is at a set price for the next 2 years is really good and he's a proven playoff performer. It's a decent 2nd round pick too given the Sixers arent very good this year.

I think we'll trade Collins.

Clarkson... that's a tough ask.
Actually think Clarkson is the most likely to get dealt at this point. He's having a great year and he's on a decent contract that is easy to trade for.

Collins just makes too much money to make enough trades work and he has a player option, so there isnt even complete security he will be with whatever team that trades for him more than a half season.
