2024 Jazzfanz Annual Current draft

That’s why I said we need to strike a good balance between it going too fast and too slowly.

Everything in this life comes down to balance.

Not enough sex is sad, but too much isn’t good neither, you get the point..
Good Sir, there is nothing objectionable with the unlimited pleasures invoked when one layeth with young maidens.

White
Caruso
Jalen
Giannis
Brook

Fun fact, everyone on my team averages at least 1 block per game except Jalen. As a starting unit they average 6.3bpg. They average 5.5 spg.
Think White and Caruso is kind of redundant and this really relies on Jalen being a dynamic #1 option self creator. Definitely an interesting team though but I would have opted for a more offensive focused guard, but you can still definitely get that off the bench.

How people rate my team will largely depend on what they think of Jalen. I watched the majority of OKC last year and saw him take on the #1 offensive role in all of the non-SGA minutes that they played. They would stagger him and SGA and surround them with 3&D guys, and it worked extremely well. Going in to his 3rd season, I would expect him to have improved even more.

I'm really high on Jalen. I think he can be a top 10 guy in the league. Guys who have great rookie years and follow it up with the type of Sophomore year that he had often end up in MVP discussions at some point in their careers. I specifically chose guards that wouldn't dominate the ball so that I didn't take the ball out of Giannis or Jalen's hands.

He is definitely a star level player already but whether he becomes a superstar/top10 guy or not is more tricky. I think part of that is carrying a heavy burdain on clutch moments, and with OKC thats likely gonna be SGA most of the time.

I think he definitely has the potential, but might end up being Jaylen Brown to SGA's Jason Tatum. Not the best analogy after JB just won all those postseason MVPs but you get the point.

We need to make sure we do the midseason vote this year because a lot of the guys we are taking because of projected growth. Last year we only did the before season vote and I guarantee the results would have been quite a bit different by midseason.

I mean, it should be done after the season. No one is going to care about this mid-season. We can do it during the playoffs because the Jazz wont be involved at all so Jazz news/happenings will be at a slow point.

PG - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
SG - Donovan Mitchell
SF - Brandon Ingram
PF - Julius Randle
C - Jaren Jackson Jr

I think I got great value at every pick. There are a few really good teams though. Going to be a fun competition.

Jdub is a sleeping giant. He is already an analytics darling and you're definitely not lying about him taking over as a #1 option at times. With at least one of Giddey/Shai off the court last year he had 28% USG and 61% TS. His play equated to something like 25/5/5 per36 in those minutes. Now that Giddey is gone he should have the opportunity to take over and elevate into an all star player.
