2024 Jazzfanz Annual Current draft

Depends on the school I think. My daughter's school is super strict and hand out suspensions for using a phone in class.

I believe Indiana passed a law against cell phone use in school as well. I'm not sure how those kids are going to learn the real world skills of wasting time when you are supposed to be productive.
I am moving to Indiana lol. CA high schools rely on tech a bit too much. Son can't do homework without either the Chromebook or his phone because they need it for the assignment. Having ADHD and having to use the things that are easiest to distract you to do the thing you hate to do is a ****** recipe.

I'm having a little bit of an internal conflict with my second unit. I have a couple of guys in mind that would round out my roster nicely, but I kind of just want to pick my favorite players.

I don't think a bench makes much of a difference in the voting, but I could be wrong. I know when I've voted in the past I only really look at the bench if the starting units are super close.
Bench will matter.

Well, they do use Chromebooks, they are pretty locked down, but of course most of the kids know how to get around that.

I'm pretty sure we've commiserated about kids with ADHD in the past, but yeah, I know what you are talking about.

That and Schoology gets updated like monthly by most teachers... so they have this tool they tell us to check in real-time and it leads to all sorts of arguments because it shows missing assignments... half are legitimate and the other half are just the teacher hasn't updated. I had an issue with a particular teacher that we ended up having a meeting with... I literally read her syllabus to her about how "parents are encouraged to check Schoology often..." as she had not updated over multiple months and multiple requests. I'm super over it.

insert old man yells at cloud gif.

It's like we're living the same life, lol. We've definitely had that same argument with our kids.

Good to know. I've even told him to tell his teachers his dad's a jerk who is going to yell at him and ground him for the weekend if the grades aren't updated. Our teachers out here are mostly awesome and try hard or straight lazy/uncaring.

I think some of them are just a little technology challenged too.
Our HS is fairly new so a lot of the older teachers stayed where they were. So we have a lot of younger ones. They had a few that were let go (which requires an act of congress in California lol) last year and the one I met with was one of them. She was in her 30s and I think loved causing drama... she taught gym and weight training. She didn't understand the assignment at all.
