2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

not sure i can speak definitively for elizah, but most of us that like dillingham feel he's elite talent worth taking in spite of the horrendous fit for the jazz. at a certain point, if you feel a player is good enough, you take him regardless of who you currently have on your roster.
Just not ready to watch a guy for the next 3 or 4 years who has absolutely no interest in playing defense.

Watching Rob would be a treat. He may be one of the more fun guys to watch. He may not lead to winning but he will be fun.

The impression I got from that article was that the Jazz might try to trade into the teens and take Dillingham if he falls there. I didn't get the impression that the Jazz are looking at him at #10, but maybe I'm misreading it.

The Jazz are exploring trading up from #10 and also trying to get into the teens. Concurrently, the Lakers have some interest in Colin Sexton and could include the #17 pick in a trade proposal.

I don't think #29 + #32 could get the Jazz up into the teens without the Jazz adding a player to the trade.

Doesnt seem to be any real quality sources anymore. Teams seem to be very tight lipped this draft cycle.

Seems like just learning about who worked out for whom is what is driving these mocks.

I get the impression that if we trade up, it won't be into the top 10. We haven't really been linked to anyone above our draft position nor have we been mentioned as a suitor for the top 10 teams that are rumored to be willing to trade. I can definitely see us trading up earlier in the draft using the two later picks. Most likely trade is trading out of the draft for future picks tbh.

29 and 32 would allow the Lakers to take Bronny before their 55th pick.

Bub Carrington has some really enticing indicators (size, age, production/role for his age in a major conference, eye-popping midrange shooting off the dribble/good FT%/decent 3FG%, 2:1 ast/to ratio) and I think I draft him over basically anyone that could be available at 10. Feels like highest upside and best positional fit we have for a guard.

The main negative for Bub for me is that I don't think he projects to be a very good defender. I also think it's difficult for a lead guard to be successful in the NBA when they can't touch the paint, he basically has to be elite in the midrange, which he might be.

Every prospect has warts though, and I don't think his are any worse than others projected at 10, so I wouldn't complain if that's where we go.

You’re not wrong, but he shot >50% from midrange (according to Leif or Barlow), which for his diet of shots is elite of the elite. His footwork on shots like that and how contested a lot of those shots were was jaw-dropping.

Also bear in mind that that’s usually the sacrifice-zone in modern NBA defense and is the epicenter of making plays for others. That is an area of the floor very hard to shut down.

I'm a little worried on the shot. I think he can guard up but won't be as strong as Holiday or Smart... those guys are like strongest guards in the league though. It looked like he stood guys up when they tried to go through him but in the nba that is a different level of dude. I think White/Caruso/Quickley/Brunson all have components I can see.

I think this is fair....Ideally, I think he's playing next to an oversized primary option that allows him to defend PG sized players. The shooting is a little scary for me, because at 6'3....it's hard to get by with iffy shooting/playmaking. I think Carter/Knecht are fairly safe....but there is some downside risk to both players.

The Jazz have been tight-lipped and haven't been linked to anyone really. There's been a bit of chatter, including from David Locke, suggesting that the Jazz could trade up from #10 for someone if they're properly motivated.

Been linked to lots of players....just not the guys who are certain to go ahead of us. I don't believe in "tight lipped"....especially not from the Jazz whose draft plans were in the wide open last year. Info is out on the Jazz, there's just no indication we're moving into the top 5.

From talking to multiple guys who would know the Jazz liked Keyonte very early on in the cycle and Keyonte’s camp wasn’t very tight lipped about it.

Not sure about the interest in Bilal last year but that wasn’t very tight lipped either.
