2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Topic might be the #1 player in this class. I also think this draft isn’t as bad as a lot are making it sound. I mean it’s bad still but not as bad.

A couple players need to emerge or its pretty rough. Think it is on par with 2013 or 2006. You can still find an all-star or good player but I think its easier to make mistakes.

The class is horrendous.

I still have no idea how Collier can be a top 5 pick let alone a guy in discussion for #1.

Risacher looks solid, but he's the most vanilla 3&D player possible. Incredibly upright and stiff with average athleticism and he's also in a lot of top 5's. Was one of the worst top prospects I've ever seen at the youth level with his lack of assertiveness.

We all love Sheppard, but he's a barely 6'2 PG w/o a wingspan and he might be a top 5 guy.

Right now it seems like a 2 man draft to me. Sarr for his standout tools as a big and Topic for his standout tools as a primary scoring option. If Topic didnt emerge as a legitimate top 5 in any class guy, this draft would be bottom of the barrel bad.

Cody Williams would be my 3rd ranked guy and he would be like 10-14 in most drafts.

Its probably gonna be like the 2006 draft (the Bargnani class). Gonna be hit and miss at the top... an Aldridge and a Roy up there. Will be a Rondo or Lowry in there somewhere but are you gonna take em over guys that would more traditionally be top 7-8 picks? Holland over a guy like Shep would be the obvious play for upside but it might be like taking Tyrus Thomas over Kyle Lowry.

After the blowout the Jazz are tied for the 3rd worst team in terms of differential.
I mean yeah... when you lose by 50 and we are only 20 games in that will happen. We still won't finish bottom 3. We end up 5-7 depending on what types of trades we do.

This is more impressive than anything I've seen from the previous clips from him. I'm totally intrigued. Now I have to find a stream for a few of his games.
He’s certainly very impressive, but the most impressive thing of all may be that he does it in those terrible pink/grey outfits. They look like 80s beach volleyball dudes.

Topic passes it easily into other players hands directly...He does it on the move. He would be fantastic to pair up with Lauri.

Topic is so damn fast while looking slow. There's just something about the way he looks when he runs that looks kind of funky, but damn he's ****ing fast.

(latest game highlights)

Reminds me a bit of James Harden. He can flip his hips, turn and take off before anyone knows what's going on.

I think there could be a few nice players sprinkled throughout this draft. It just lacks clear All Star-level guys at the top.

These guys all look rotational, for example:
- Garwey Dual -- some Dejounte Murray potential; he can beat people, get to the rim and pass pretty well
- Tyler Smith -- mildly comparable to Jabari Smith a couple years back
- Cody Williams -- Tough, versatile, two-way player; not a star per se, but a solid player like an Aaron Afflalo
- Jakobe Walter -- I'm okay with the KCP comps
- Reed Sheppard -- Might be comparable to a CJ McCollum; would like to see him show more playmaking and rim finishing
- Kyle Filipowski -- Seems like a 3rd big; I haven't watched his defense
- Ryan Dunn -- Defensive energy player at the wing who can score a bit
- Donovan Clingan -- Full-sized drop big with some touch
- Rob Dillingham -- Probably your 3rd guard, sparkplug scorer

Regarding Buzelis, there's some good news and some bad news. The good news is that he's about the same height as Tyler Smith. The bad news is that he looks like a ginger.

Looks fairly fluid here. Unfortunately, however, Buzelis looks like he's on track to be the softest big in the league. He's got a ways to go before he'll be able to assert himself physically.

Don't see how Reed and McCollum are at all comparable
