2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I am ignorant with regard to non-US leagues. So I don't know if his ability to create and score at the rim is partially bullying smaller dudes and weaker competition... being mid in the bigger league with a small sample is my concern. I think I buy into some star upside potential there but I'm not sure its a bet I'd make.
First it's the same league. Both Mega and Zvezda play in the same league. The difference is he was the big fish in the small pond with Mega and he was a youngster on a team of vets with Zvezda. The other difference is - I think most of his time at Zvezda was after his injury. I don't think he looked fully recovered when he came back and then he got injured again. Also - keep in mind that we are talking about really small samples. Like... he has 36 shots for Zvezda... TOTAL, in all games. If he scores 3 more buckets it would bumps his FG by 9-10%. His AST% and RB% and stocks largely held up across teams.

Thank you... I misunderstood why the move was a big deal. Thought it may have been a JV Varsity type of thing. I probably take him if he's there at 10 enough to like and if he is there its likely because nba teams overreacted to the medicals on his knee.

Just to add, if there is difference in quality of competition - it's between the local league and the Euroleague and there he took just 8 shots and made 3.

Also... integrating another rookie pg type would be a fantastic way to lose so many games. Team tank wins big there.

Yeah, I don't know... he looks like a really high BBIQ player and has very high level passing vision. His passing stats are very impressive. He has 35% AST% this year, which is very good especially for such a young player and especially knowing how stingy Euro stat keepers are with assists.

I just find it silly anyone would question Topic at 10. You run to draft him, you even explore trading up to draft him if he starts falling just to make sure you get him.

The shooting isn't that concerning given his FT%. Yes, he might never be average, but I don't tsee him being so bad he is unplayable.

He's one of the few players with an elite skill and he's the only one with an elite skill who also has elite size at a perimeter position.

Yeah... I think I'm wrong here. Go ahead and take him.

You cooked

I feel like Topic’s defining characteristics are the ability to get to get basket and finish+pass. His defining weakness is…well no one thinks he can defend. Don’t know why we’d compare him to guys who are opposites.

Dragic is a guy who played in the same manner.

That's kind of who I saw initially. He became a really good shooter. He was also a competitive MFer. No idea what kind of personality Topic has.

Yeah, Dragic was relentless. He was also a really great athlete and that allowed him to finish at the rim and get by guys. I think Topic can finish at the rim. His craftiness looks amazing (almost suspiciously amazing)....but I don't think he has the same burst off the dribble. I see Dragic as a realistic, high end outcome for Topic if things go well in his development.

Dragic and Lin are two good reference points for me as PnR dominant ball handlers who get to the hoop and make stuff happen. When they hit their jumpers, they can be incredible tough to deal with.I'm sure someone will completely invalidate the comparison because Topic is 2 inches taller or whatever, but stylistically that's the player I see and outcome wise I'd expect him to fall somewhere on that scale.
