2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Sir you are starting to say the things I've been saying this whole time. Congrats on learning, no idea why you are arguing at a brick wall.

No, you were saying BPA was about meticulously ranking players and finding out which player is better and that you must draft player under ALL circumstances. Here is the exact proof of you saying that.

Like if I have a choice at a tiny PG and a big wing, the tiny PG has to be significantly better to be drafted over the big wing unless I just have to swing on a PG because I have everything else.

I just can't believe that teams are meticulously rating these guys out to the point that if Player X is rated "84" that they are 100/100 times getting drafted over Player Y who is rated "83"

Yes, that is what BPA is and why BPA is not an actual thing anyone does and is just a thing people say because they dont have to fully explain their process (which may or may not be logical).

Why you thought this was a gotcha I have no idea. But I do get you have a fetish for long internet arguments over nothing, so that is probably it.

You invented this version to argue about, nobody actually advocated for your made up thing you got mad about. If you don't like arguments over nothing, don't invent things to get mad about and ignore what people are actually talking about.

All we had were people saying that they don't think anyone on our roster precludes us from drafting another and the thought process was explained citing the specific circumstances. For example, we shouldn't let Walker Kessler prevent us from drafting a C because he's not good enough. That is clear as day.

Edey would have no PT available right now....you would have to find a home for Kessler or Collins straight away or have him sit for awhile. Kessler for Edey swap would but kindy risky but maybe worthwhile. Think Kessler ends up a better player 7/8 times out of 10.....but Edey has a lot more offensive potential.

Edey would beat out Walker for minutes, so it'd be Walker with not PT.

IMO, to be convinced on Edey you have to be convinced on a ton of further development. He's old, but he did start playing basketball late so it's possible. But as of right now, Edey is kind of opposite of what the Jazz do on offense. He's not a high post operator and doesn't handle the ball or pass super well. One place where he can be immediately effective is the PnR....but we don't run much PnR. Hardy leverages a big's perimeter ability way more than their size....so there's definitely a mismatch in philosophy.

C is difficult because you cannot play two of them at the same time. It seems like a lot of commitment to change the entire offense and/or trade Kessler/Collins to make room for Edey. Also, we are the worst defensive team in the league and C is by far the most important defensive position. Hardy seemingly doesn't care much that Kessler is a really good defender.....I don't know if that's a good or bad thing for Edey.

Dear Danny, if you pick Edey you know what Cy will do on this site, right? Please consider the sanctity of the Jazzfanz community in your decision.

Signed, what the ... just joking I like Zach

Nice.
Castle at 2 huh? I see it tho.
Carter getting well deserved attention.

I would think Memphis is looking at Edey too. First of all, what's the point of promising him top 10? Is he going to shut down his pre-draft? Second of all, why make an announcement that a team "in the top 10" gave him a promise?
Why are you thinking this hard about an obvious lie from a small time account trying to gain clout?

I dont know how legit this bSPARQ is, but apparently its a pure athletic/physical comp tool based on (international) combine results and measurements.

Doesnt paint a great picture about Zaccharie Risachers athleticism...

Edey on the other hand had much better results:

Again, let's stop being stupid about athletic testing that happened in Europe. He just got done playing a full season and had to go do testing. He had no time to prep or rest from the grind of the season. It';s ****ing stupid to compare him to guys who had months of rest and prep time. Bat **** stupid.
