The thing I come back to is that interview with Ainge where he said he really likes Edey and it wasn't unanimous in the FO... but people were coming around to him.

You’re not wrong about Hardy disliking Kessler though. He went through his struggles, but I don’t think many coaches around the league would have been as harsh. Especially when rocking the 30th ranked defense in the league. Say what you want about Kessler, no one can deny that he is a good rim protector. Hardy just doesn’t seem to care.

Agreed on both points - we should probably trade Kessler/Collins if we draft Edey... and Hardy seemed to ignore the putrid defense despite having a clear answer on the bench.

Dont read too much into the defense last year. They put it on the backburner because having a good functional offense is more important when youre trying to boost your players trade value.

Everyone plays big on the defensive side...Kris and Ryan Dunn would be super fast to fill in any gaps on defense.

On offense go to the post. Ryan Dunn would have to figure out how to roll with Edey.

Edey does not match up well with Wemby but in fairness pretty much no one does. He is going to pull any stationary big out on the perimeter and do whatever he wants.

Not likely. Edey won't be posted up even close to the amount he was in college and against the spurs you will most likely see a different player bodying up Edey and Wemby used as the crash big.
 
I think Cody is a good prospect, still probably not my favorite at 10, but I can absolutely see how a team could fall in love with him. It only takes one. If matas got top 5 hype, so can he.

If the Jazz stay at 10, they are likely looking at Knecht, Holland, Topic or Edey, unless they just spontaneously fall in love with McCain. Both Holland and McCain are working out with the Jazz this week. Edey and Knecht worked out with the Jazz last week. If it were me, I think the smartest pick in this scenario would be Topic, pending his medicals check out. Some people really love Ron Holland though.
