2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Putting intel together, a rough outline would be:

No chance at falling to 10:
Risacher
Sarr
Sheppard
Castle
Clingan

Likely not falling to 10:
Knecht
Matas

Rumored to go higher than 10:
Cody Williams
Salaun???

If we rule out the guys above (I'm not sure if we should rule out Williams/Salaun), looks like we'll be drafting from:
Holland
Topic
Carter
Dillingham
I think that is extremely fair to say.

It seems as though Williams and Matas are firmly above Holland at this point. Salaun had a lot of hype but that has died down. Where did that go? Article says he sprained his ankle and hasn't been able to work out so maybe that's it.

I think Salaun is in the same category as Knecht and Matas. Otherwise I agree.

Salaun I thought is not likely to be there at 10 at this late stage.

Out of the pool of guys we'd be choosing from, I'd probably rank them like this:

Carter
Holland
Topic
Salaun
Dillingham

Devin Carter has been a big riser for me. There's a chance he can't shoot, which is troubling for a combo guard without much playmaking, but he does so many other things well.

Salaun I thought is not likely to be there at 10 at this late stage.

I thought so too, he had a lot of hype earlier. But the article we're getting a lot of insight from has him at #12....so it's feasible he's there at #10 based on the intel.

Latest ESPN mock draft just dropped:

Atlanta hasn’t been able to secure a workout with Sarr. Risacher and Clingan remain potential candidates to go at 1. They could also trade back a couple spots.

Sarr did workout for Washington and they would likely take him if he was there at 2.

Sheppard’s draft range is extremely small. It’s unlikely he falls past 3 or 4.

If Risacher and Sheppard are off the board at 4 the Spurs likely pick Castle.

Teams are thinking Detroit takes Buzelis at 5.

Knecht’s draft range is becoming narrow. Teams don’t think he will fall past 7 or 8.

Clingan is a trade up candidate but teams drafting 3-6 aren’t interested in taking him for themselves.

Dillingham will be working out for the Spurs and Pistons. Utah and Chicago are interested in securing workouts with him as well. The Jazz and Bulls are seen as potential landing spots if the Spurs don’t take him at 8.

Williams will have worked out for every team in the top-10 except Houston. He’s a candidate to go in the top-8.

Topic is visiting teams and the Jazz are on his schedule. They have us taking him at 10 in their latest mock this morning.

Where does Holland end up in ESPN's mock?

Intel from Wasserman's mock that he dropped today (also some tweets):

Teams still guessing on who Hawks draft (He has them picking Rishacher).

Teams/agents believe Sarr is #2 if he's not #1.

Rockets expected to shop #3

Castle's camp has gone dark. Castle/Shep have been most quiet.

All top 6 teams except HOU have worked out Matas, he's ahead of Holland. Looks from Hawks, Wizards, Pistons.

Clingan has top 2 consideration, but could slide if he's passed on and no one trades up to #3 for him.

Cody Williams believed to be picked higher than expected

Spurs are high on Carter

Holland unconvincing pro day

Knecht feels safe for most teams

Dilly has not worked out for teams yet, could be a slide candidate. Blazers/Pistons won't draft him.

Salaun getting top 10 workouts

Ware impressive pro day

The crazy part is I would almost reverse the order you have here.

This seems to be the consensus, though there's a rumor that Carter will go inside the top 10. It's not a loud, persistent rumor, but may be enough to put Carter in the same category as Williams.

No. 8 could be a debate between Carter and Topic for the Spurs. Spurs could take Castle as a wing at #4 and go guard at #8. Maybe Dillingham sneaks in that conversation, but he's largely seen as more of a scorer than playmaker and the Spurs obviously want a complement for Wemby.

I've had Topic as the most likely high-impact player in the draft for most of the season. But I don't like the ACL and wonder if his unusual body type and movement will make him injury-prone.
