She did a podcast with David Aldridge today and she said he could go 14, but it would be a mistake to her and that she has heard he wont fall past 19, but she still doesnt see who he will guard.

I just dont get the intense worry on who he will guard. There are a number of drop bigs who do just fine on defense in the NBA. It's not like every team is the Boston Celtics.

Great Edey article for all my Edey Heads.
 
Craziest thing about the article I didnt know beforehand: Edey only averaged 2 PPG his senior year in HS (he started played his Sophomore year). He averaged 9 PPG his freshman year at Purdue.

Like he can't switch on the perimeter... and 5 out offenses you will have to play some sort of zone... but MFer is like 12 feet tall and thicc... pretty sure he will be okay in drop coverages and you can plan around his strengths.

If we take Rob at 10 I think its partly cuz we have a deal setup with Sexton. Rob would be fun if he plays but I just think I'd go a different direction with how I think the draft will play out.

That is crazy. Props to the Purdue coach for taking a chance on a kid with crazy size but also as unproven as it gets.

Some of these so called experts tend to be lazy with their analysis. They look at the way he was used in college and completely ignore the fact that he had to be passive defensively because of the importance of him offensively and how much effort he was forced to use on that end of the court. I'm excited to see how he looks on defense when he is allowed to be more aggressive and physical to control the paint.
