Absolute ceiling wise, I do agree with @Ferguson_Mellochill with the Horford comparison. I think Lauri is a completely different kind of player/athlete.
I think he will be a KO level playmaker but just in different ways. I don't think he is as crafty/weird as KO. His playmaking is more conventional. He's going to use his ability to get downhill as a ball handler and grab&go type player.Probably too much to ask for Flip to develop into a KO-tier playmaker, but if he did, and was viable on defense, that'd be very fun.
\o/God this is one of my favorite times of the basketball year, where I'm super high on all our rookies and convinced they'll all develop into integral pieces going forward
It wouldn't surprise me but it usually takes guys a decent amount of time to gain that experience to become a playmaking big.Probably too much to ask for Flip to develop into a KO-tier playmaker, but if he did, and was viable on defense, that'd be very fun.
Happy to sip kool-aid during the off-season but boy does this seem rosy for a guy that seemed to (really) struggle against NBA prospects.I still think people get stuff really wrong on Filipowski. He was the best defender on one of the best defensive teams in college. He has the same stocks% that Taylor Hendricks had last year against better competition. He moves incredibly well for a guy who isn't considered athletic and is 7' tall. He's got a better handle than Lauri Markkanen.
They would be judging Flip more, and there would be no “somehow” about it.I feel that if she were fat and frumpy people would be judging her way more somehow.
He’s more like Domas Sabonis without the strength and athleticism.I think he will be a KO level playmaker but just in different ways. I don't think he is as crafty/weird as KO. His playmaking is more conventional. He's going to use his ability to get downhill as a ball handler and grab&go type player.
And yes, a lot of that is going to hinge on his ability to shoot, but he's a tall white guy who is known to shoot, people are going to close out on him. He was a very good open C&S player at Duke this past year.
Strength, yeah, but he is a better athlete than SabonisHe’s more like Domas Sabonis without the strength and athleticism.
Sabonis can pull down tough rebounds on bigger guys then dunk on them. Not sure Filip is quite there yet.Strength, yeah, but he is a better athlete than Sabonis
And he will get stronger, I’d imagineStrength, yeah, but he is a better athlete than Sabonis
What are we all thinking about the fact that Filipowski had hip surgery a year ago? Do you expect his movement to improve as he moves further and further past that? Is it a cause for worry in the future?

I did.Now that we've settled this complex debate where we don't have the information to actually say much beyond "a college graduate going to high school prom is weird and seems creepy, fractured family relationships are heartbreaking and complicated, wish him the best, and that his support system and this around him can guide him on the right path but he doesn't need randos on the Internet psycho analyzing his life from two tweets" I think it's time to move on to other hard hitting Jazz topics like "who watched the presidential debate last night?"
jk
@Ferguson_Mellochill still thinks Locke is an official mouthpiece for the Jazz?Anyone listen to Locke’s take in Filipowski? He’s pretty low on him. Leif Thulin is also low.
