It's probably more about that tax bill they'll have due shortly. Wyc is probably protecting his legacy and doesn't want to be seen as the dude that broke up a championship team because the Tax Man came a knockin'.

This Jazz rebuild isn't going to be 1 or 2 years. It's going to be 5 years. I can see the Jazz moving Lauri in that context, but that doesn't mean they need to do it this summer.

It may be 5 years to get to contender level but starting next year we should begin to see a steady improvement.

Makes me think of how Mark Cuban just kind of faded out, and has now sold a chunk of the Mavs, after the Mavs won their championship. It is like it was enough to get there once, scratched that itch, so time to move on to other hobbies.
