I wouldn’t do it but if the Clips are looking to tank, Kawhi for Collins, Clarkson and a couple 1sts would be tempting, and then trade Sexton for Zach.

Roll out Keyonte-Zach-Lauri-Kawhi-Kessler with Collier, Sensabaugh, Williams, Hendricks and Eubanks off the bench. I wouldn’t do it but it would be tempting. Add a couple vets. Prince and Kennard maybe.

I don’t even think about it. The risk is too high and it lives and die’s with Kawhi’s ability to stay on the court, and the chances on that are slim to none. And I like Kawhi too. It’s a hard no for me. I’d rather get a top 5-7 lotto pick

Nah, I'm good. Honestly, that team is doing that thing again where we compete for half a season, get an injury, than forcetank the remainder to keep our pick.

I predict LeBron will be washed by then.

I’ve made this prediction for the past 5 years.
Ya I did that with Tom Brady way too often as well

The Nets don't own any of their own 1sts until 2028 and they went into a full rebuild.

Even if there's no advantage to tanking, if you have no chance at contending you might as well get some value from your stars. Then again, it is the Clippers who just let Paul George walk away for nothing, so who knows.
How do you not know the nets received there 25 and 26 picks back?

I don't think people realize it's pretty easy not to be a bad team if you don't own your own picks and have money to spend on decent free agents.

Yeah if you dont care about taxes and such, then its easy enough to keep your head above the water. Even staying below taxes and being mid shouldnt be too hard if you dont have super young guys who need lots of playing time.

Thats why I think you should always try to squeeze blue chip prospects out of your trade partners instead of draft picks when you got a high quality asset to trade. Thats how OKC and Indy got their guys for instance.

Now two of our reported dance partners (Kings and Spurs) are reportedly interested in DeRozan.

Spurs seem overly concerned in rushing the process. Do they think they can already compete, or is there some other reason why they would chase guys who are on the decline and not gonna be there long term?

What's your point? The jazz owned their own picks other than a protected thunder pick.
What’s your point? Jazz had a first round and second pick deficit. You think that isn’t “pretty poor”?

Hmmmm….

Besides that you are wrong about their own picks

Do your homework before spouting off.

The ability to walk away is easily the best leverage the Jazz have. I know every hard core tank fan would hate it, but I’m perfectly happy with a team built around Markkanen, Sexton, Kessler and the young guys. If any of Hendricks, Keyonte or Cody can make a big jump, that would be a decent team to start with.

The Spurs are apparently interested in acquiring talented vets on 1-2 year contracts to surround Wemby. Gives them a chance to stay somewhat competitive while he's developing. Also allows them flexibility to potentially add a star player in '25 or '26. They have their #1 guy but this appears to be their plan to develop him the next few years.

Cuz DDR is damn good and might be cheap because if the market. No reason to slow roll it with Wemby. He's a generational player so give him the tools to make history

Spurs are going to have stars flock to play with Wemby. Tanking would be stupid imo. Let Wemby do generational things
