2024 Vegas Summer League Thread

Where did you have him ranked? The class is looking fairly promising, so I wouldnt say it's a guarantee he's a top 5 guy. But yeah, he's definitely a starting quality player.
Had him 10 or 11 on my loose "board". Still want to see him against more consistent NBA lenght and athleticism, but the initial returns look very promising. He looks like he can play... at least offensively. And he still creates turnovers on defense so...

I saw a meme of Pelinka and Redick looking despondent having a caption that read something to the effect of, "JJ Redick and Rob Pelinka knowing they have to tell LeBron that Bronny needs to be in the G League." For those of us not paying any attention, can we get a reader's digest view of his summer league, aside from the stats (I'm aware of his 0-8 on threes)?

Bronny is a 55th pick getting the attention of a number one pick. He is strong for his age and athletic, but isn't skilled or tall. I don't think he's been a complete disaster, but hasn't shown much to get excited about either.

I personally think he has a chance to develop in to a rotation player, but he needs a lot of development. If he was being covered like a normal 55th pick then nobody would even be talking about him.

Offensively I can definitely see it, defensively, not so much.
I see it from an athleticism perspective. He just doesn't have the length to be as prolific defensively as AK. Offensively I don't see much in common other than inconsiderate shooting.

I'm not going to argue with you since I've only seen one of his G-League games and this one Summer League game. It's also been a long time since I've seen AK.

You brought up a good point on the length though, A.K. had a 7'4" wingspan according to the internet and Buzelis is only 6'10", so a 6" difference.

Buzelis was advertised as a playmaker for others, but so far he has 2 assists in 3 games. It seems he's trying to out-gun the gunneriest of SL gunner guards so far. That's not really an AK trait.

Here is a sobering fact. Bronny is averaging one half point per game less than Tay Henny and Bazely in Vegas. Bacot is averaging more ppg than all three. Championship incoming.
I'm guessing you forgot how good Hendricks played at the end of the season last year. There's no gameplan in SL, every player trying to impress, no chemistry. It looks like one of @Handlogten's Heros pickup games

I have more chemistry with the guys in my run than SL teams lol.
