absolutely they will not. they need better role players and right now garland just isn't what they need. He will likely be shipped off for some role players. or, if don threatens to leave hell get fired away for role players. ironically, I wonder if they would trade don back for Lauri

Their problem is Mitchell.. plain and simple.. when he has the ball everyone just stands and watch. Other teams has that too except Mitchell cant hit the long shot consistently enough.

Compare that to the Pacers team where everybody’s involved.

Agreed. During lower stakes games, the offense flows and the ball is shared more. In crunch time or high stakes games, it always has been and will always be Mitchell time. We have sufficient data points to conclude that it's a load he can't shoulder successfully. That's why I don't think any team with him as the #1 option will ever win the title.

Some good points by Perks about a Mitchell led team:

I don’t hate him, but he’s not the guy to build your team around. Pretty sure it would take Lauri to get him, and I’d rather hold out for a great draft asset or just keep him at that point.
Ya I wouldn't build my team around a guy that barely played either lol.
And if I was trading Lauri for kuminga the trade would look like the one discussed last year where they get Lauri and we get kuminga, moody and like 5 picks.

I was just saying I like him like I like tay Henny. He interests me and I could see him turning into something someday. There is possibly some potential.

I would love to have those Warriors picks in a post Steph era. Those are the great picks I’d be looking for. Kuminga can be the matching salary. It can be a short term, high money deal. He can be the tank commander and get his money opportunity with us. With our luck, he will turn into a good player like Lauri and ruin the tank. Restarting the cycle.

No rule that you have to build your team around him. I like him as a flier and salary matching.

I don’t disagree. I just think the Golden State trade for Lauri ship sailed away when they went out and got Jimmy Butler. I’m not confident that they’ll be that bad once Curry retires either. I fully expect them to be able to reload pretty quickly.

I’d much rather wait to see if there’s better offers for Lauri now that his contract situation is clear. I still think he’ll command a better trade package than what the Warriors can put together if the Jazz are patient.

After Tatum injury I'm now rooting for Celtics to steal this series from NYK. Few years ago there was a media narrative that Celtics are better when only 1 of Tatum and Brown is playing, and if Celtics somehow pull the rabbit out of the hat here then that discussion is surely gonna reignite.

Despite my dislike for Celtics... them winning this series would create maximum havoc. NYK especially would be in shambles.

After the recent report that Kerr benched him for looking off Steph multiple times in their game against the Blazers, I want nothing to do with him. Even if he develops into a great offensive player, the kind of mindset you must have to look off the GOAT shooter is a massive red flag.

I want guys who do the right things... at least when the right thing is that freaking obvious.
