3 tanking trades to consider

First is the Phoenix Suns

Horny has got a very bad team to play well. They are not tanking so they become a good trade partner to add a few peices to make a better play off push. They are a little week at the 3.

Marvin Williams, Brandon Rush for Archie Goodwin, Emeka Okafor and the pacers pick next year.

Okafor is a dead contract that will be jettisoned at the end of the year.
I am a goodwin fan but he cant shoot.
Phoenix gets more defense and 3 point shooting.

This isnt a tanking trade but an improvement trade with Detroit. (someone else brought this up but dont know who so cant quote)

Kanter and Williams for Monroe, Villenueva and Singler or Datome (jazz might have to throw in a future pick)

Williams can play the 3 and that means josh smith moves over to pf and then Kanter can come in and play PF and slide Smith back to SF. Detroit is going to have a hard time signing Monroe and right now Kanter will be cheaper in the future.
Jazz gain a scoring center to pair with Favors. I really like this look. Might be hard to match much of an offer over 10 mil for hayward though and probably mean the Jazz lose Burks.
Singler or Datome are throw ins.

Last one is with is with Charlotte

Jefferson, Williams and Kanter for MKG, Biyombo, ben gordon and a first round pick.

(i want to be on record that i dont want to trade kanter but this is what they would want)

MKG cant shoot but is a great leader will help the tank and pray his shot gets better
hornets get rid of the mistake of Biyombo.
Add defense and scoring to make a run at the playoffs in the east.

I know nothing great and some of the players are players i like and want on the Jazz.

I still think the M Williams for Prince is the bet and most likely....

Jazz get a pick of some sort aswell!!

Marvin for Copeland and a 1st rounder (Phoenix has there 2014)
Marvin and RJ for Copeland, Granger, and a first rounder. More risky for the tankers.

Getting rid of Copeland's 3.1 mill contract for next year gets Indiana that much closer to resigning Lance.

I like the first move.

Why does everyone think trading for Monroe is a tank move? He is far more talented offensively than any player on The Jazz right now. He'd instantly become a number one option.

Charlotte is not trading MKG for our garbage.

I beleive i said it is an improvement move

Give me more info? straight up it is a bad trade

Memphis needs help... With Gasol still out they could really use Marvin as a stretch four and keep them in the playoff hunt, then when Gasol comes back they can push into the playoff picture and even make some noise in them. This also helps Memphis cause they get out of Prince's contract for next season.

The jazz get Prince who is injured and hence helps the Tank also the jazz would get either the Grizzlies pick this year top 10 protected or their unprotected 2015 pick!!

well thought out and with the pick I agree.

1. Phoenix giving a pick makes that trade a non-starter since Ma.Will is redundant for them.

2. Memphis can't trade their pick and Prince is too expensive next year to take on.

3. The Monroe trade could gain some traction, maybe. They'd have to rate Kanter higher than Monroe though, and nobody in the NBA is going to do that. I think they'd rather overpay him slightly next season and deal with it.

Yeah, Monroe would def be the next Bi Gal of Corbin the Frogs roster love.

2. Memphis can't trade their pick and Prince is too expensive next year to take on.

Let's change that to a 2017 first round pick, and Prince is less than 8 million next year so that is a doable contract to eat. Honestly there isn't much out there to trade with, but this one makes sense for both sides!!

Most around here over value the actual value of jazz players. Need to come up with realistic trades. The prince for marvin is one I could actually see happening

I would trade Marvin and Biedrins straight up for Okafor to free up time for Kanter. Hell if they throw in a pick then great. Then we can get back to our tanking ways.

Ant they would add a pick excactly why? To trade one big expiring contract for two smaller ones? Marvin can play, but so can Okafor when he gets back.

The dude has a bad neck, he's not going to be back for a while. Plus, Marvin > Okafor and I don't think that's debatable. But either way, do the trade without a pick if its there.

There are some flaws here, but perhaps the most glaring is the idea that the Jazz are supposed to somehow become WORSE with Kanter playing less minutes (0) for the Jazz.

Hayward belongs in these scenarios since there's a good chance that the Jazz will be forced to move on without him anyway (or at least should if he gets an offer for an annual salary above what the Jazz offered him this offseason) and he's a cog that makes some nice things happen for the Jazz right now.
