5th pick, 23rd pick, Kanter for 2nd pick

Yes you do that trade. Although I love Kanter these 2 could be team changers and you do what it takes to get one of them.

Thing is, I am not so in love with our players that I wouldn't do what it takes to get a franchise-esque player, but the proposal you have is flawed. No team would go for it. Favors is our best player, and has somewhat of a replacement in development in Gobert. Guarantee you that other teams see more value in Favors than Kanter. Favors and #5 might be enough for a team like Milwaukee who has seen their rim protection in Sanders likely go up in flames. They'd get two legit players to play with Giannis, while we'd get to keep our #23 pick as an asset to pick or trade elsewhere. Or maybe they'd want #23 as well. I just doubt Kanter moves the needle for them.

I would probably do it...... but it would be quite risky.

Pretty fair trade for both teams imo

Man, I can't believe how quickly Jazz fans turn on players. I would not do this trade unless I was getting back a healthy Embiid. We trade Kanter and all we have is Favors at the PF, Gobert may or may not be ready for big minutes but he can't play PF. I love Wiggins but he has some flaws to his game. He is skinny, raw offensively and disappears at times. Beside the fact I am not ready to give up on Kanter just yet. I want to see what a new coach can do and if he will allow him to expand his game. If Wiggins/Parker were a real "next Lebron" then yea I make that trade but neither are so I would have to pass.

I know everyone is depressed but there is still a small chance that the Jazz get lucky with the remaining guys on the board or perhaps a team i.e. Orlando would be willing to trade with us if Exum is off the board, maybe they pass on Embiid due to his back issues and they take #5 - Smart + #23 and a future pick. Jazz grab Embiid and pick a SF/BPA at 35.

Cleveland takes Wiggins
Philly Takes Parker
Bucks takes Exum (due to concerns about Embiid's back)
Orlando either takes Randle or Smart (they loved him last year)
Jazz draft Embiid.

I think there is an outside chance that Parker falls to 5. If one of the top 3 teams like Exum, and Orlando still really likes Smart. Teams may be afraid of Parker's athleticism or weight. I know, I'm dreaming.

It'll be interesting to see how everything works out, never know what DL will do or the lottery go (even if it looks pretty clear cut).

There will be a trade. This offer is too much. Coordinated bigs are hard to get. I would definitely make a trade for Parker. I'd do #5, #23 and Burks. The Bucks wouldn't take it though.

Wiggins and Parker are almost certain All Stars. Top 2 picks aren't going to move. I don't think anything we have will get us to #3 either, tbh.

The only chance I see is swapping 4 and 5 with Orlando in the event that Exum is gone at #3, Orlando wants Smart and Embiid makes them nervous. I don't think Kanter would be part of that deal. They'll ask for Favors, and probably at that point we hold off.

Agreed, we have some talent but they're all due for paydays soon. I don't think DL will deal the GS 2017. It is unprotected, and Curry could have had several anke transplants by then.

Orlando fans are a bit conflicted if Wiggins, Parker and Exum are the first 3 picks. They like Embiid, Smart and some even Randle.

I disagree. I would trade that 2017 unprotected pick in a heartbeat. Let's not kid ourselves. Golden State is projected to still be good in 2017. Plus it's for a franchise player.

I would trade the 5th, 23rd, the 2017 Unprotected, and Kanter for Parker.

Not kidding. It's worth it imo.

Too much. The 3 picks are plenty to move up 3 spots.

Agreed. Kanter is turrible, no loss..I'd do it for Wiggins or Parker.

Calm down there hotshot. You may be loud and jump around when things dont go your way or someone disagrees with you, but as adults we learn that this behavior gets us no where. Momma should have smacked you around a little instead of teaching you to be an entitled prick.

Adults dont stick their mind to a small piece in the puzzle and miss the big picture. You are just wanting to be right to satisfy your ego, but thats too early my friend, Enes has at least 2 good years to prove you are wrong.

Agree. Essentially giving up two lottery picks if Enes is included + another first to jump 3 spots.
We've been deriding Parker on this board for having weight concerns and playing questionable defense. Now some want to mortgage the farm for him? Talk about a knee-jerk reaction. I just can't believe how many people thought we'd really move up, when percentages were so strongly against that happening. But I guess I understand. It's like buying a lottery ticket when the jackpot gets to $100M+, fantasizing about what you'll do with all that money, and then being angry/depressed when your numbers don't come up - despite the long odds against it happening in the first place.

#5 will be a GREAT player, likely all-star potential. #23 will be a solid backup. Bring them in, let them compete against the incumbents for playing time and a starting position. Go after a good SF via free agency or a trade. Plenty of teams have dumped higher priced players in the past few years. But don't panic. Kanter, Burke and Burks are nowhere near decent trade value. At least wait until the deadline before throwing one away.
