7 Trades that should happen

and the number one trade? Lady and Gentelman I present to you the potential move that created 27 pages of nonsense.

1. Eric Bledsoe to the Jazz

Utah Jazz receive: Eric Bledsoe, Caron Butler and Ronny Turiaf. Los Angeles Clippers receive: Paul Millsap and Alec Burks. The deal in Trade Machine.

Enter Eric Bledsoe. The rumored swap (detailed in-depth here by our own Bradford Doolittle) makes sense on almost every level for the Jazz. They net a potential star in Bledsoe while giving up Millsap, who may be nothing more than a temporary placeholder for Derrick Favors or Enes Kanter in Utah's frontcourt. Bledsoe is averaging 15.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds every 36 minutes this season, and Utah would have every reason to give him that kind of playing time.

Burks makes this a no-go. I'd rather just give him the PG reins than give up him and Sap for Bledsoe.

As for the Clippers? Millsap would help raise the team's 21st ranking in defensive rebounding rate and give them some much-needed scoring punch down low. Lamar Odom was supposed to be that guy(coming off the bench), but he's scored double digits just once this season. The Clippers could go big and slot the 6-8 Millsap at the 3, which would give them one of the league's most formidable frontcourts. Would it guarantee a better shot at the title? It's certainly a safer bet than Odom's becoming a reliable NBA

Milsap would help the Clippers increase their defensive rebounding rate from 21st--haven't the jazz been like 27th all season?
Milsap would score of the bench--Milsap is a starter.
Milsap could play the 3 in a big line-up. --Except the Jazz tried this with mixed results and stopped it because Milsap didn't feel comfortable on the wing.

But if the Clippers are willing to try, who am I to stop them?

This is just a snipet as its an insider deal. FWIW the 7th deal is Jefferson, MO and Tinsley for Gortat, Dragic, Wes Johnson and Frye. Stated that it is a salary dumping/ tanking move as the suns want a top three pick in this draft.

I hope we don't trade next year's first. I guarantee potential trading partners are negotiating hard for it... slowing **** down.

I'd throw in both of this year's picks instead of Burks + Raja.

EDIT- Damn, they hung up the phone as I was saying 'Ra....'

When it says 7 trades that SHOULD happen, does it mean trades that make the most sense, or trades that are most likely to happen?

I was wondering the samething. With them listing Jefferson for half the Suns team I think they mean what makes sense.

MiLLsap and the lesser of the 2013 picks for Bledsoe and who cares IF finding a decent deal for Jefferson isn't there (because we all know that the Jazz don't have the nuts to trade both).

Not down with throwing Alec Burks in this deal.
Geez, why don't we include Hayward or Kanter, too?

If the Clippers want more for Bledsoe, then throw in the latter of the two draft picks this season (as a last resort). Personally, I think Millsap for Bledsoe is decent value for both teams. Caron and Turiaf are just throw-ins. Burks was the #12 pick. Bledsoe does not warrant Millsap PLUS a lottery pick who has shown very good potential. Jazz are dealing from a position of strength; they don't have to deal Millsap. If this were LA's best offer, I trust KOC would simply walk away, just like he's done numerous times in the past. And I would not be critical of him for doing so.

Besides, most GM's know KOC is only going to trade ONE of the two. So SA and the Clippers, although wanting different players, are now in a bit of a bidding war against each other. Clippers may need to work on Garnett if they're intent on also getting Burks because that isn't going to happen.
