What's new

#82-- Our Utah Jazz at Minny Timberpups. 6pm mtn

Yes, but they could still have held their heads high if Corbin simply let the scrubs play out the game -- these are the kind of bonehead things Ty has continued to do throughout his tenure as coach. Where are his brains?

What are you going to do now that Ty is most likely gone? You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. So if the Jazz had lost and got the fourth spot all by themselves and still get jump by another team then all your complaining was for nothing. You make it sound like we went from 4th place to 10th place.

You end up splitting the average number of balls. Basically, instead of having 119 balls, we'll now have 103 or 104 (average between 119 and 88). I say average because a coin flip will determine who gets the extra ball over the other team. In addition, this coin flip also determines who gets the earlier pick in case neither us nor Boston leap into the top three.

You seem happy for the coin flip....you enjoyed this game right?

I would've liked a lose, but I think you guys don't understand that these guys really want to win. There's nothing that we could do and the timberwolves had chances to win it. I think it's great that they ended with a win.

Utah and Boston will split the ping pong balls. Jazz went from the #4 to the #4.5. No reason to win that game. Purely idiotic move.

You don't know that yet. So you are saying that if they had lost and gotten the fourth seed they would certainly be picking before the Celtics. I know the 5th seed has moved up a few times and might even be the slot that has done it the most. I am not sure on this but I recall reading it somewhere.

4th or 5th. does it really matter? all we need is pick up stauskas with our warriors pick. not even gonna sweat

Draft means nothing to this team.

We have players with 3-4 years experience(Favors, Hayward, Burks, Kanter) and we suck.

None of the are stars. All are good players, not great.

We need a veteran star ,problem is no one wants in Utah.

Makes Hayward decision tough.

I still say he is worth 10, will be offered 12, we will not match.

Then the curse of Hayward begins as he finally hits a buzzer shot for once to knock us out of the playoffs ;)

The win cost the Jazz over 10% chance at landing in the top 3
@chadfordinsider
Oh boy, that season ending Jazz win cost them some ping-pong balls. Moved them from 119 combos to 103. Now tied with Celtics.

Again, just a reminder:

Orlando: Afflalo 6 minutes, Oladipo 17.
Boston: SAT Rondo, Sullinger, Humprhies, and Bayless.

Utah: Played Burke, Burks, Hayward, and Favors 40 minutes.

These guys really want to win? I didn't have this sensation against the Lakers and neither in the last 25 games!
The dilemma is...have we tanked the season implicitly or we are just that poor?
I don't see a single reason to try to win so hard this game now that we had secured the 4th!

Nateboz and wikipedia say jazz and celts will both have same odds..... no coin flip on draft position

Unless the amount of ping pong balls have changed, their will be a coin toss. 119+88 is 207 which when divided by 2, is 103.5. So I coin toss will be held and one team will get 104 and the other 103. If neither team moves up then who ever won the coin toss will be drafting 4th.

If someone had told you that the jazz were going to go 6-24 (or what ever it is) after the all-star break, would you have believed them? Or that the Jazz would be in a great position to draft high? I'm mostly saying that we are lucky to be in any position that gives us a good chance at moving up.

I think some players are in on the tank - others are not.

Burke, Hayward and Jefferson are definitely not in on the tank.

On the other hand, at the end of regulation Favors made a shot a lot harder than he had to and the Burk push-off was just bizarre, he never pulls up for a mid range shot in that situation (which I believe was his intention before the offensive foul was called)
