What's new

(9-8) Kings @ (8-9) Jazz - Gamethread

Sacto has been accumulating talent for a while though. Fox, Giles, Bagley, Bogdanovich, Hield--they're getting some good young talent.

Our guys just seem so unaware of when a ball is coming off the rim and where the opponents are, ffs can someone teach them to box out

Mitchell needs to play on a team that wants to win, with a GM willing to make those moves and an owner/board willing to spend the money to make it happen. I'm going to cheer for Donovan when he decides to ask for a trade. And for Rudy when his contract is up and he pulls a Hayward. Maybe Gordon knew what the hell he was doing. Lindsey was only willing to make it rain when he absolutely had to. He'll probably do the same and waste Donovan's time.

I think Otto Porter could be good for us. Play Ingles at the 4 and bring Crowder off the bench. Just not sure about that contract.

I’ll have to look at his %’s. As long as he can give us more space and open more lanes for our guards.

IMO the biggest issue right now is that the Jazz have too many defensive specialist who are too poor on offense to play, and when I say that I mean Exum and O'Neale. They are the two defensive athletes we got, but they are so pathetic this year offensively it's tough to play them.

This team is a Mirotic/Bjelica player away from being very dangerous. A big guy that can knock down threes with ease. The Favors-Gobert duo isn’t cutting it.

The sad thing is we had a chance at getting both of them.

gobert has been so bad for a minute. his defense has been so half-assed.
I stand by what I said earlier in the thread about Rudy not being great. He can't guard athletic 5's; he can't guard 5's that take him outside. He can stand near the rim and hold his hands up above his head. Yes, that makes it hard for guards who drive into the paint. Plus, he's not really a good rebounder. He gets what comes to him due to his length. But he doesn't box out. He doesn't fight for tough boards. He's an icon here, but if I were the GM, I'd listen to offers. Consider trading him while his value is at it's peak because he's getting exposed a whole lot this season. For the DPOY, he sure isn't impacting many games. He just isn't a dominant defensive player.

Problem is, "Tight-*** Lindsey" has done ZERO in the way of getting decent depth. He believes Quin and his development staff can take castoffs and make them NBA players. It worked with Ingles; but that's one in a hundred. More often than not, you're going to get low-end subs if you invest low-end dollars.
