March 15th is fast approaching. For those of you not in the know, March 15th is this season's trade deadline.

Before last year's trade deadline, most of us Jazz fans were confident the Jazz would be standing pat. The Jazz community was still getting used to our world being flipped upside down by Sloan's abrupt retirement. Before we even had a chance to get used to the post-Sloan Jazz, the Jazz fan's world was, once again, flipped upside down. You'd think your world being flipped upside down a second time would simply make things normal again, but no. Nothing was normal. Our franchise point guard was sent away. We traded our present for a future.

And that's where we stand right now.

The Jazz fan community is pretty much split in half. Those who believe we still have a present, and those who believe we need to cherish our future.

From what I've noticed, most Jazz fans are on "Team Future". They want nothing more than playing time for our lotto pick quartet. They understand our team cannot compete with this current roster, and would rather watch our young guys lose due to rookie mistakes than watch our veterans lose with nothing to blame but their own mistakes. As far as the trade deadline goes, most Team Future fans want one of Paul or Al traded to make room for Derrick or Enes. They're also in support of a Raja or CJ trade to make room for Gordon and Alec. If the trade deadline comes and goes, and we still have all of Paul, Al, Raja, and CJ, Team Future will probably rage. We'll get a lot of people who will insult the Jazz O, and they'll probably stop posting for a few weeks.

On the flipside of Team Future, we have "Team Present". These are fans that see potential in our mix of youth and veterans. We may not be winning a championship any time soon, but getting playoff experience for the young guys is always a good idea. We have great talent in Al Jefferson and amazing value in Paul Millsap. Getting rid of non-problem players just so a young player can start just doesn't make sense. Our young guys may not be starting, but they're mostly getting okay minutes. If trade deadlines comes and goes, and we stand pat, Team Present wins Trade Deadline Day.

So which side are you? Who stays, and who goes?

Future, and it is a no brainer. We do not have a vet on this roster that will either a) win us a title or b) net us a player in a trade that will win us a title. It's an easy decision, unless you root for BYU, Riley Nelson and beating crappy teams to say how great you are.

Unless you own the team, and care about your bottom line, the future is the ONLY option at this point.

Team future. As far as I care this season is pretty much over. I want Bell gone. Either Al or Paul gone. And hopefully CJ and Harris gone. I don't really care if it's now though. So long as we don't have a Harris, Bell, Howard, Millsap and Jefferson starting lineup to start next year. That would be a complete waste and I'll start calling for Ty to be **** canned immediatly. As it stands now I'm far from happy with Ty anyway.

I voted Future, but actually want a blend. I would like to see Burks/Kanter get 20 minutes per game and Favors/Hayward 25-30 minutes per game the rest of the way.

This was mostly supposed to be a trade deadline countdown topic, so post your thoughts and grievances here too. Got a little carried away with the teams part I guess. :d

I've been watching the Jazz since the day Karl Malone was drafted, and yet it never ceases to amaze me how fans always think that we are just a trade away from being champions, and this trade would happen if the jazz would just do it, but the jazz won't do it just to stick it to you.

Like I said, I would like to see CJ Miles traded. If there is a good deal for Sap or Al, I would like that too. Both players would probably have more trade value next year though.

it is funny because nobody has said anything close to this but you. Most want a trade right now so we can develop our youth not to get a piece for a championship.

I couldn't agree more, we are not close to being a championship team, not even remotely close. The Jazz management are constantly trying to make this team better, trades are not that easy, no one is just going to take CJ and AL and give us their most productive players to get us over the hump. Benching all the veterans and only playing the young guys is just as illogical, it is not even a possibility. The illusion that the Jazz are just need to get rid of CJ and AL to become a powerhouse is laughable at best. Just enjoy watching the games, KOC is a good GM, much better than most, I trust he will keep us as good as we can possibly be.

Must Keep
Favors
Kanter
Burks
Hayward

Would like to keep

Evans
Millsap
Watson
Howard
Tinsley

Please trade to get other players
Harris
Jefferson

Get rid of any way we can, hopefully for something
CJ

Don't really care, other than cap space or room to deal
Bell

Jefferson's 7 assists, and passing lately is trying to make me change my mind on him.... but I am hesitant. If he can pass like that all of the time he could fit in as a keeper and a team player.... but then again his D is so soft I still don't think it's worth it. Oh, the pain. My head hurts.

Keep in mind we should trade any except the top 4 if a better player is on the table. I suppose we could trade any of the other 4 for a better player but I don't see that happening.

Team Future, without a doubt. I'd like to keep Millsap, Hayward, Burks, Kanter, and Favors. Everyone else is up for grabs.

Let's hope Corbin sees this. I'd rather watch our quartet play more minutes, even if we lose every game.

I hope all the Jazz fans continue to buy tickets to all of these losses so we don't lose the team in order to get our young guys some more minutes.

I like Jefferson, but agree he is going to be gone in the next 2 years. I don't see any rush in trading him now though. Any offers for him now would only be better next year when he is in his contract year (better play) and a large expiring contract.

I didn't vote as I just support the team. I believe the young guys are getting good experience this year. I do recognize the young guys as the future, and I believe we can continue to build the future by trading Al after the season to improve draft position.
